As you know, I recently hosted an afternoon tea and created a bunch of new recipes for the occasion. it featured homemade scones, finger sandwiches, charCUPeries, and the cutest bite-sized desserts. One of those desserts was these Mini Fruit Tartlets. They couldn’t have been more perfect.

Of all the mini desserts I’ve made, I think these Mini Fruit Tartlets might be one of my favorites. The idea came to me while thinking about classic fruit pizza: how could I recreate that nostalgic flavor in a mini version without a ton of effort? That thought led me straight to these tartlets.

I’ve used these store-bought frozen phyllo cups before and absolutely love them. (Check out these Mini Blueberry Cheesecake Bites, Crème Brûlée Tartlets, Cranberry Brie Bites.)  They make creating desserts like this one so easy and instantly impressive. The crispy texture is unbeatable, and by adding a cream cheese filling and topping with fresh fruit and berries it can’t get any better, my friend.

Having classic flavors, being easy to make, beautifully presented, and completely fresh and delicious is what makes them a win-win-win in my book. While I served these at a tea, I think they’d be a hit at any get-together, celebration, or holiday. I’m pretty confident you’ll be heading home with an empty platter.

Ingredients

It’s time to gather the ingredients to make these adorable Fruit Tartlets. Here’s what you will need:

  • Frozen phyllo cups – These pre-made shells are ultra-crispy and save so much time, making it easy to create a dessert that feels fancy without the fuss.
  • Cream cheese – Creamy and rich, this is the base of the filling and gives it that smooth, slightly tangy flavor that balances beautifully with the sweet fruit.
  • Unsalted butter – A bit of softened butter helps to lighten and smooth out the filling, adding richness and an extra creamy texture.
  • Confectioners’ sugar – This sweetens the filling without any grittiness, keeping the texture silky and soft.
  • Pure vanilla extract – Just a splash adds warmth and enhances all the other flavors in the filling.
  • Assorted sliced fresh fruit and berries – A mix of colorful fruits brings freshness, vibrant flavor, and visual appeal—choose your favorites or go with what’s in season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these Mini Fruit Tartlets ahead of time?

Yes, but for the best texture, it’s ideal to assemble them the day you plan to serve them. You can prep the cream cheese filling a day before and store it in the fridge. Wait to fill and top the tartlets until closer to serving to keep the shells from getting soft.

How do I keep the fruit from making the tartlets soggy?

Make sure your fruit is fully dry before adding it to the tartlets. After washing, pat it gently with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Avoid overly juicy fruits like watermelon or very ripe peaches unless you blot them well or add them right before serving.

What kind of fruit works best for these?

Berries (like raspberries, blueberries, and sliced strawberries) work beautifully, as do small pieces of kiwi, mandarin orange segments, or halved grapes. Look for fruits that are colorful, not too wet, and small enough to sit neatly in the shell.

Where do I find frozen phyllo cups?

You can usually find them in the freezer section near the puff pastry or pie crusts. They’re often sold in boxes of 15, so plan accordingly based on how many tartlets you’d like to make.

How should I store any leftovers?

If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll still taste good the next day, but keep in mind that the phyllo shells may lose their crispness over time.
