Who is

Hey there! I’m Michael, the man behind Inspired by Charm. I started this blog back in 2009 when I purchased a bed and breakfast. The goal was to share my cooking and decorating adventures along the way. Since then, Inspired by Charm has formed a life of its own and has become the work of my life.

Originally from St. Marys, PA, I currently live in Pittsburgh with my three cats: Jax, Leo, and Ruby. (Yes, I’m a crazy cat gentleman.) My home is a 1960s colonial that I’m constantly updating with a modern meets English country esthetic.

Inspired by Charm has always been a potluck of inspiration cataloging any and all of my passions. Lately, my focus has been on recipes, home decor ideas, entertaining tips, and all things vintage. If this sounds interesting, you’re in the right place.

How To Use Inspired By Charm:

With over 1,500 posts, there’s a wealth of inspiration at Inspired by Charm and it is all designed to help make your life a bit more delicious and beautiful. Whether you need a recipedecorating adviceentertaining tips, or holiday inspiration, it is my hope that Inspired by Charm will be the first place you search.

Interested in a learning opportunity? I offer several free email courses including my decorating secrets, how to create a picture-perfect fall, and my best ideas for the ultimate Christmas. Any one of these is a great place to start.

My number one goal has always been to INSPIRE YOU. You’re the reason I show up here. Along the way I’ve been so fortunate to have had my work featured by Martha Stewart, HGTV Magazine, The Pioneer Woman, The Huffington Post, Cottages and Bungalows, Buzz Feed, Better Homes and Gardens, and more. In fact, my home and Christmas tree made the cover of BHG’s Christmas Ideas Magazine. Additionally, Inspired by Charm was awarded “Best Entertaining Blog” by Saveur Magazine.

Through my years of blogging I’ve also had the opportunity to work with some of my favorite brands that includes Crate and Barrel, HomeGoods, GMC, Target, Lowes, Carnival Cruise Lines, Dave’s Killer Bread, ALDI, KitchenAid, and many more!
