Here on Inspired by Charm, we’ve made plenty of pinwheel and roll-up recipes. I honestly can’t get enough of them. I’m so thrilled to be adding another to the list: BLT Pinwheel Sandwiches.

The BLT might be my favorite sandwich. While I enjoy grilled cheese, a Reuben, or even a club sandwich, my heart and taste buds just love a classic bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. The combination of flavors is too good! I remember when my mom would make them for dinner and I would be on cloud nine.

In the past, we’ve made Italian Sub Pinwheel Sandwiches, so I thought we could try something similar and use BLTs as the inspiration. These turned out SO GOOD, I know you’re going to love them!

Recipe Tips

Use good quality bacon that is crispy and not too fatty. This will add a delicious crunch to your pinwheels. And don’t be afraid to go heavy on the bacon – it’s one of the stars of this dish! I recommend my baked brown sugar bacon.

Make sure your lettuce is thoroughly dry before adding it to the tortillas. Wet lettuce can cause the pinwheels to become soggy and lose their shape.

Lastly, when rolling the tortillas, make sure to roll them tightly to avoid any gaps or air pockets. This will ensure they stay together when sliced and served.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these BLT pinwheel sandwiches ahead of time?

I wouldn’t suggest it. While some pinwheels can be made hours (or even a day) in advance, these BLT pinwheels are best served and enjoyed within an hour of making.

Can I use pre-cooked bacon?

Yes, you can use pre-cooked bacon for this recipe. It will save you time and effort, and the end result will still be delicious. If you’re looking for a delicious and mess-free way to prepare bacon, check out this baked brown sugar bacon. It’s what I used for this recipe. It’s amazing.

Can I use a different type of tortilla?

Absolutely. If you have a preference for a certain type of tortilla, feel free to use it. Just make sure it’s large enough to hold all of the filling ingredients.

Can I make BLT pinwheels without mayonnaise?

While the mayonnaise in this recipe is what gives the pinwheels that classic BLT flavor, you can certainly leave it out if you prefer. You could substitute a different spread, like sour cream or Greek yogurt if you’d like.
