Ingredients

It’s time to gather all the ingredients to make this heavenly dip. Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • Heavy Cream – Adds a luxurious, creamy texture to the dip, giving it that light and airy consistency that makes each bite smooth and rich.
  • Instant Espresso Powder – This packs a coffee punch, delivering the classic espresso flavor that’s essential in tiramisu.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – Brings a touch of chocolatey depth and slight bitterness to balance the sweetness in the dip.
  • Mascarpone Cheese – Known for its smooth and creamy texture, mascarpone gives this dip its authentic Italian flavor and signature richness.
  • Cream Cheese – Adds a hint of tang and helps the dip stay thick and creamy, balancing the sweetness perfectly.
  • Confectioners’ Sugar – This fine sugar blends smoothly, adding just the right amount of sweetness without any graininess.
  • Pure Vanilla Extract – A hint of vanilla brings warmth and rounds out the flavors, enhancing the dip’s sweetness and complexity.
  • Kosher Salt – Just a pinch intensifies the flavors, ensuring every bite is balanced and delicious.
  • Ladyfingers – The perfect dipping partner with their light, crisp texture that contrasts beautifully with the creamy dip, making each bite a treat. These are the ones I used. They have a nice crunch which paired well with the dip.

How To Make

Okay, with our ingredients ready to go, let’s whip up this Tiramisu Dip! I’ll still take you through the steps below. I’ve also provided a full ingredient list and detailed instructions in the printable recipe card below.

  1. In a small bowl, combine the heavy cream, instant espresso powder, and unsweetened cocoa powder. Whisk until smooth.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened mascarpone, cream cheese, and sifted confectioners’ sugar on medium-high speed until smooth (about two minutes). Pause to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

  1. Add the cream mixture, vanilla extract, and a pinch of kosher salt. Start mixing on low speed until the ingredients are just combined, then increase to medium-high and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy (about one more minute).
  2. Spoon the dip into a serving bowl, dust with additional cocoa powder if desired, and serve with ladyfingers for dipping.

And with that, you’re ready to dive ladyfinger first into this dip. Or… just grab a spoon (we don’t judge around here)!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best way to soften mascarpone and cream cheese?

To soften them, let mascarpone and cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes before using. This will make mixing them easier, resulting in a smooth, creamy dip without lumps.

Can I use regular coffee instead of instant espresso powder?

Instant espresso powder is ideal because it delivers a concentrated coffee flavor without adding liquid. Regular coffee won’t provide the same depth and might make the dip too thin. If you can’t find espresso powder, instant coffee can be a substitute, but the flavor will be slightly milder.

What can I use as a dipper besides ladyfingers?

Ladyfingers are classic, but you have plenty of options! Try graham crackers, biscotti, or even fresh strawberries. Each adds a unique flavor and texture that pairs well with the creamy dip.

How do I store any leftovers?

Keep any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should stay fresh for two to three days.  Before serving, stir it to bring back its smooth, creamy texture.
