Fall Decorating Ideas from Bayberry House
I’ve already kicked off autumn of 2021 by sharing a few fall decorating ideas which mostly were from previous years, so I thought I would invite you back into my home to share some of my current fall decorating.
This post is part of my Seasons of Home holiday decor series. This week my blogger friends and I are giving you some fabulous fall decorating ideas by sharing our Fall Home Tours. All of these talented ladies are linked at the end of this post. When you are done looking around here, be sure to click through to see all of their stunning homes and inspired ideas.

When it comes to seasonal decorating, I never feel like I’m done. (Yes, this is both a blessing and a curse.) Consequently, this little Fall Home Tour is more of a “this is how things look right now” rather than “this is a completed look at my home for the season.” Hopefully, that makes sense.
With that being said, this tour may feel a bit random (that’s because it is), but be sure to stop back because I’m certain I’ll have more new things to share as the season unfolds. I also highly recommend joining the Inspired by Charm Mailing List if you want to ensure you don’t miss a thing. Additionally, I have a fun email series on how to create a picture-perfect fall. You can join that series HERE if you’re interested.
With that, let’s get on with the tour!
Fall Decorating Ideas – Living Room:
Last week I gave you a look at how I styled my living room for the fall season. In case you missed that, I’ll give you a mini-tour here. (Check out this post for more details.)
Even though this room is somewhat white and bright, the addition of amber and rust tones, fall decor, cozy texture, and flickering flames helps this space feel warm and inviting. Brass elements, a lantern, and other seasonal accessories tie into the color scheme and add warmth to the room.
Since sharing the previous post, I did make a little addition that I wanted to show you. If you’re following me on Instagram (@inspiredbycharm), you might know I just completed a 30-day art challenge. Well, I took one of my oil paintings from the art challenge, a pumpkin, and added it to my bookshelf. I love how it looks.
That was a quick tour of this room, so if you want to see more, you can find the full post about this space HERE.
Fall Decorating Ideas – Entryway:
I also recently shared my Witchy Halloween Entryway Decor HERE. This was so fun to style and decorate and I love the end results.
Again, since I did a full blog post about this, I’m just sharing a couple photos of it here. You can see more HERE. That post also includes sources for a lot of items that I used.
Fall Decorating Ideas – Family Room:
Over in my family room, I kept things pretty much the same with just a few slight changes.
First, I created a new “boo-tiful” fall mantel using my collection of handmade pottery tealight ghosts from Mollie Jenkins Pottery. (You can read all about this mantel HERE.) The ghost are currently not for sale. She typically sells these ghosts on a given day in August and they sell out in minutes. I’ve purchased a couple every year for the past three years to build up this collection.
Along with the ghosts I added a little DIY chalkboard, fall leaves, white pumpkins, and a few candlesticks.
I have an entire post dedicated to this mantel, if you want to see more. You’ll be able to see how it looks with all the candles and tealight ghosts lit up. It’s pretty fun! Visit that post HERE.
To the left of the fireplace, I have a wall space that I never know what to do with. I had a little shelf here but didn’t love it, so I decided to swap it out for a little peg rail that I styled with a bunch of throws and blankets. I’m really loving how this change looks! Plus, it’s totally functional as we head into the cold-weather season. Bring on all the cozy feels.
I may have gone a little too matchy-matchy with the hues, but I like it nonetheless. Either way, it’s nice to have some cozy blankets for chilly weather.
Another change I made to this room was swapping out the wall sconces on either side of my TV. I think the ones that I had here previously looked nice, but they only directed light downward which made them kind if of useless. This room doesn’t have any sort of overhead lighting so it can get pretty dark in here. These new lights offer so much more light and really brighten up the room. Plus, they look fabulous!
My paint-by-number gallery wall still proudly hangs in this room. You can read more about it HERE.
Fall Decorating Ideas – Dining Room:
My dining room got a few new changes and cozy elements including a new chandelier and curtains. This is a space I’m still working on, so for now, you just get a little sneak peek. I am LOVING the changes. I’ll share more about this space soon.
Fall Decorating Ideas – Kitchen:
I kept things pretty simple in the kitchen. A few ceramic pumpkins and beautiful blooms were all I needed. (If you have any questions about sources for this space, I have an entire post dedicated to that HERE.)
Here is a little peek into my butler’s pantry
In addition to some seasonal touches, I always recommend a few delicious treats!
When it comes to fall decorating ideas in the kitchen, all I really care about are the tasty goodies coming out of my oven. Ha! I’ve linked some of my favorites below.
My Favorite Fall Recipe Ideas:
- Aunt Maggie’s Pumpkin Roll
- Salted Caramel Apple Pie
- Apple Cider Martini
- Baked Pumpkin Donuts
- Salted Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns
For the moment, I think that just about sums up the current fall decorating here at Bayberry House. Here are a few more random photos that did fit in above.
I hope you enjoyed this somewhat impromptu and slightly random post of fall decorating ideas. Even better, I hope you picked up a few suggestions and inspiration that you can recreate in your own space.

I am an interior designer as well and I am so tired of everyone’s home looking the same. I found your blog by chance and I have to say I too was inspired by charm… great work.
Hey Michael! I loved the aesthetics. Your photography skills seem to be so-on point too. I loved the insightful decor ideas which will help me use the space efficiently while maintaining the aesthetic.
Thanks for sharing!
Michael, your fall home tour was absolutely awesome! I love every little detail in your home, is so warm and inviting. I can see myself in your family room with a cup of my favorite tea and book. Your home inside and out is a true inspiration.
Love how the curtain pattern and colors pull the fall decor together! Looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
Hello! So cute! Love…love….love the broom in the entry!
So many cute ideas!!!! Where did you find that candle/holder combination in the basket? I haven’t ever seen anything like that…super cute!! Also, your pumpkin painting is beautiful!!! Love love love your entry display, thank you for the tour!!
Did I miss the post on the zig zag striped ribbon? in the Living room? Your pumpkin is divine as are you!
I’m not sure what you mean? What ribbon?
Your home for fall is BOO…TIFUL. Wouldn’t change a thing. I like the peg rail with the throws as functional art.Your living room mantle a couple weeks ago was the inspiration to get me started on my Fall decorating. I was in a slump but then your design choices gave me the spark. and I love the fabric of your dining room curtains.
Only one word needed…..STUNNING!
Wonderful decorating … especially the new curtains and chandelier. I’m on the lookout for a chandelier and haven’t been able to find anything that really appeals to me–do you find that your new one gives enough light for kids to do homework at the kitchen table? Mood lighting is nice but I also need function!
Wish I could decorate like you! Retired on a budget means perusing your blog as a way to satisfy. I looked on Mollie’ site for info about the ghosts. I see how to order but no pricing. Can you give me any info on S/M/L ghosts? I know the won’ be current prices, but at least I’ll have an idea. Thanks!
You are very talented and i love your style. So happy to have found you! Love the kitchen rug and ghost ceramics! Do you mind sharing where they are from?? Thank you!!
Thank you! The ghosts are mentioned in the post above. Hope that helps!

Your home is just like the name of your blog…..CHARMING! I love it so much. Warm, tailored and yet relaxed and welcoming. Can you share the source of your kitchen dining area drapes and the rug in front of your sink? I love those colors….so yummy! Beautiful home.
I absolutely love the infusion of color this year in your draperies/rug. Adding your own painting was such a nice touch. Your home is stunning, I love every inch of it🧡
You have a lovely home. I love how you’ve decorated it.
