My Entryway Christmas Decor
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyWelcome back to Christmas at Bayberry House. I couldn’t be more delighted to give you a tour around another area of my holiday home. Today, I’m sharing my entryway Christmas decor and showing you how I created a festive welcome for all that enter.
Sharing my entryway Christmas decor is especially exciting this year as my walls have a new paint color and I have an all-new custom cabinetry closet and bench. (Details on that HERE.)
This past fall I had some stunning custom cabinetry installed after tearing out a built-in closet during my kitchen renovation last year. This is the first time I’ve really been able to decorate this new space and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it all came together.
The fun part about my entryway is that when you are standing in it, you can see into my family room, living room, and my kitchen. So, as part of my little entryway Christmas decor tour, you’re going to get a little sneak peek at some of my other spaces too. I’ve blogged about most of these rooms, so I’ll be sure to share a link to those spaces so you can see more.
Let me show you around!
My Entryway Christmas Decor:
We’ll start with this view, which is one of my favorites. (I’m going to be saying that a lot because basically every view into and beyond this room makes me giddy.)
I actually shared this photo on Instagram several weeks ago and it quickly became the most liked photo I’ve ever shared. Ever! It’s pretty incredible.
In this photo, my front door is on the left, my family room (with the big brick fireplace) is in front of me, my kitchen is to the right, and my living room is behind me.
I chose the place for my Red and White Christmas Tree here in my family room because of the sight line from my entryway. I love that you can see the tree right away when you enter my house. In fact, you can see both of my trees from the entryway.
On the banister I added a traditional-meets-modern garland. While this styling may look complicated, it’s actually really easy to do. My secret is the ornament garland HERE.
It’s simple to style, just add a pine garland first, then weave in the ornament garland. It’s such a simple way to get a really dynamic look. To finish it off, I added in a string of lights and a few oversized pinecones.
I use these garland ties to attach my garland to my banister. I’ve been using them for years and they work like a dream!
Just behind the banister, heading up the stairs, you’ll see I started a little gallery wall. It’s nothing perfect and I’d like to continue it up the stairs, but I’m loving how it looks so far. It was one of those projects that I was putting off and then one random Tuesday afternoon I just got it done. No thinking, just doing.
From this view you can also get a peek at my Christmas ribbon cabinet. This has become one of my favorite things to decorate. So much so that I wrote an entire post about it HERE.
Next to the front door I hung a mirror and added a festive wreath to it. Below that, I have a small chair topped with this vintage Christmas grain sack pillow I got from Fabric Scout Studio. I love her work!
On the opposite side of the entryway, I have my “formal” living room. I wrote a couple posts about this space including a detailed look at my Christmas tree HERE and a tour of my new living room mantel and custom cabinetry HERE.
On the opposite side of the door I have this fabulous lettering artwork from Lindsay Letters. It’s called “Welcome Here Manifesto” and I just love the message it offers to all that enter my home. All are welcomed here.
And now for the main feature of my entryway: my new cabinetry!
I was so excited to get this all styled for Christmas and couldn’t be more pleased with how it all came together. I actually had some fun Halloween / fall ideas for this space, but then life happened and it just wasn’t meant to be. Next year!
I took inspiration from my butler’s pantry and the slight green tone in this cabinetry. I knew a pop of bold Christmas red would be the perfect addition. I was right. … or at least I think so!
(You can find details on all the paint colors I’ve used in my home via this post HERE.)
On the shelf, I started with a base of faux greens and lights. I then added in a felt ball garland, tucked in a few glass trees, and finished it off with some vintage tins. One of the tins is from Fabric Scout Studio, and the other is a Scotch tape tin that I just barely won in a heated eBay auction. It’s supposedly pretty rare and I got it for a steal.
Below that I hung some knit stockings. These are new, but I love that they have that vintage look and feel. (The knit ones are sold out. The quilted one is another Fabric Scout Studio find!)
On the bench I added a new French mattress style cushion which I got made HERE. I adore it and think it’s the perfect style for this bench.
To that, I added in a couple pillows, (the tree pillow is sold out everywhere, but you can find the pinecone pillow HERE), a vintage woodgrain thermos, and a few wrapped gifts.
Speaking of wrapped gifts, I tucked a few next to my staircase too. Yes, I’m still obsessed with plaid wrapping paper. However, this year I tried something new with my ribbon. I used this stunning linen ribbon from Tidbits Linen. It’s gorgeous and I just love how it looks on my packages.
And with my gifts wrapped, I’d say my entryway is ready for Christmas, wouldn’t you?
Oh, and I forgot to mention, from this angle, you can see into my kitchen. If you missed it, last week I shared a little tour of this space all decorated for Christmas. You can find that HERE.
Final Look – Entryway Christmas Decor:
Okay, now we are ready! Here’s a final look around:
Also, sorry not sorry about all of the pictures. I just can’t help myself. I hope you don’t mind too much.
Thank you again for joining me back inside my Christmas home. As always I hope you enjoyed looking around and picked up a little bit of inspiration for your own space.
Happy Holiday Decorating!

Your Decor is knock out , gorgeous . Big impact . Love the red with the vintage mix here and there .
Great post , thank you !
Such a welcoming/cozy space! May I ask for the link to your entryway ceiling light fixture? It would be perfect for my entryway too!
Looks great and I love your bannister garland and the custom cabinetry!
Lovely. So cheery and welcoming. I have no idea how you accomplish so much, but certainly appreciate the results. In another post you mentioned your green “problem” chairs…I hope you keep them, they are so pretty and bright and colorful and the cool colors in that room are fabulous for the holidays, as well as a nice contrast to all the other red rooms.
Your holiday posts are always my favorite and you inspired me to go with a red and white “peppermint” theme this year. My tree turned out so beautiful! I wish my stairs had an open railing like yours – that garland is next level! Alas, I have nothing wrappable. Thank you so much for your constant inspiration and have an amazing holiday!
Dang; you are so good at decorating!! It’s gorgeous and that garland!!!!!!
You could do the exact same thing again this year, and I would still oooooh and ahhhhhh, and pour over the post as if I’d never seen it before.
I love the welcome sign, and I think a reason I continue to follow you is that I think you live that.
That garland on the stair rail is a dream. Great tip on the ornament garland too!!!! Thank you as always.
love every inch of your home! Where did you get your red ornament garland???
Your home is so put together, peaceful, calm and absolutely beautiful!! Love your foyer and living room cabinetry and of course, your kitchen! Great eye for design! Perfection!
Michael, this is just the beautiful joy from your soul that we need this difficult year ! I wish I could visit you and your gorgeous home! The only suggestion I would make is to swap out your entry rug for a more festive step in! Happy holidays!
The view from every angle is so perfect! I especially love the Christmas pillows and the bench seat pillow. Wow, your garland on the staircase railing is so fabulous! Thank you for sharing all of these pretty details!
Stunning! Added a little more festivity to my day ! I decorated this year too because I like it …..no matter what happened with this year!
Wow, I love this post. You can never post to much for me, because I love your decorative style. This is what I would want my home to look like, if I had a creative mind. Thanks for sharing
Michael, I hope you’re sitting ,with a cocktail in hand, reading all these wonderful comments and enjoying the fruits of your labor!! Your entryway is WONDERFUL! I adore the garland and will have to try something similar next year. The shelf with the stockings and plaid containers is so pretty. Your entire home is so cozy and festive. Thank you for sharing all these terrific photos with your readers. Wishing you the merriest of Christmases and hope for a healthly new year for us all!
I love the sugar pine cones (they grow in my area), the plaid and the french mattress. Thanks for sharing.

I have to agree with Sydney85. You bring such amazing content to us throughout the year. Once I began following you many months ago, you quickly became my absolute, without a doubt, favorite for decor, recipes, and just a daily bit of joy. My style is similar but you of course have elevated the simple, classic, comfortable home to a new level. I just love your talent Michael! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
