Glass House Christmas Ornament Collection
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyA few years ago, I stumbled upon a set of four glass house ornaments at a store. I fell in love with them instantly, and into my cart they went. What I didn’t realize at the time was that those four little houses would spark a whole new holiday obsession for me.

I’ve shown these ornaments here on the blog before, but I don’t think I ever talked much about them. I shared the original four in this Christmas table setting post back when I had just updated my kitchen, and my dining room was basically empty. Ha.
Does this tiny village deserve an entire blog post? Who’s to say, but here we are. I guess this is part show and tell and part encouragement to start a wonderfully quirky tradition of your own. It is genuinely fun. I add one or two new houses each year, and while I think my little town is nearly complete, it still brings me joy to see what appears each season.

A small word of caution. If you’re anything like me, once you start something like this, it is far too easy to scroll through eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and everywhere else. You could build a full village overnight. But where is the magic in that? Let it take time. Let the story grow. Make it a yearly ritual. I promise it will become so much more meaningful.
For years, my tiny town only covered half of this bookshelf, but this season it finally spilled across the whole thing. It grew the most this year thanks to four new houses (one / two / three / four / five) that I simply couldn’t resist. I tried to squeeze everything into the smaller spot, but it just wasn’t happening.

In the end, this worked in my favor because I was able to tuck in a few extra decorations, including some bottle brush trees and the sweetest little vintage pinecone snowmen. You might remember that a few weeks ago, I made pinecone elves. These are in the same family, just about half the size. Adorable.
Even though none of these glass house ornaments are vintage (a must for some collectors), they still give me a strange rush of nostalgia. That feeling is really the heart of most of my holiday treasures. They make me smile and give me those Christmas morning butterflies, which is exactly why I cherish them.

And since we’re talking about holiday treasures, I have a few other favorites. My plastic deer will always hold the top spot. I wrote a full post about those if you’d like to take a peek. I also have a cheerful gathering of Santa mugs (and Santa-adjacent things) along with what I would call an unofficial group of UFO-style Shiny Brite ornaments. I don’t try to build this collection too much, mostly because these ornaments can get pricey, but they are my absolute favorite style from Shiny Brite, so I pick them up whenever I’m lucky enough to find one.
What I love most about this little village is how it grew without a plan, one tiny house at a time. That feels like the real magic of the holidays. We gather what delights us, follow what feels joyful, and before we know it, we’ve created a tradition we treasure. And when I look at these houses, I’m reminded that the most meaningful holiday pieces are rarely perfect or precious. They are the ones carrying a memory, a feeling, a spark of delight. I’m grateful for every small moment that helped build this tiny town.
