Ingredients

By combining these easy-to-find ingredients, you’ll create a delightful homemade shake and bake mix that perfectly coats the pork chops, resulting in a beautiful, crispy, and flavor-packed dish that everyone will love!

  • Pork Chops: Choose high-quality pork chops with a thickness of about one inch for optimal juiciness and tenderness. You can use bone-in or boneless chops based on your preference.
  • Unseasoned Breadcrumbs: Look for plain breadcrumbs without added seasonings to ensure the flavors of the homemade shake and bake mix shine through. These will form the crispy and golden coating on the pork chops during baking.
  • Dried Herbs and Spices: This is where all the delicious flavor is found. I’ve provided a delectable combination of salt, black pepper, onion powder, paprika, sugar, dried basil, dried oregano, dried parsley, and cayenne pepper, but feel free to adjust to your favorites.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: This plays a crucial role in achieving perfectly golden and crispy pork chops. It helps the breadcrumbs adhere to the chops, seals in moisture during baking, and adds a subtle richness to the final dish.

I’ll walk you through the steps for making these delicious pork chops below. I’ve also provided a full ingredient list and detailed instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.
