Punch to Cheer the Season:

Let’s whip up this beautiful and delicious Pomegranate Rum Punch recipe!

This time of year always feels a bit confusing to me. While I know it still autumn, in the blog world it’s time to start thinking about the holidays. (And that’s no pressure on you; celebrate whatever season brings you joy right now.)

When I made this pomegranate rum punch I smiled because it felt like a cocktail meant for this time of year. This is the time of year when seasons are colliding and you want to hang onto fall but are equally excited for the magic that the holidays bring.

Why Make this Rum Punch?

I really enjoy this cocktail recipe for several reasons:

1. It’s a punch, so it’s really simple to make and it serves a handful of people. If you’re inviting a few friends over and don’t want to be making drinks all night, this is for you.

2. It has wonderfully layered flavors that feel fresh and seasonal. Ever since I made my holiday sangria, I realize how wonderful brewed tea can be in a cocktail. That’s the case here too. The hibiscus tea adds beautiful color and flavor. It pairs perfectly with the pomegranate and the spiced rum.

3. It’s quite beautiful. I will admit I love a cocktail that looks pretty. Garnished with pomegranate seeds and orange slices, it’s a drink that invites you to sip it.

Ready to give it a try? Let me walk you through the ingredients you’ll need and the recipe!

Ingredients:

  • hibiscus tea bags – The brewed tea adds beautiful color and depth of flavor.
  • cinnamon sticks – This is a seasonal cocktail, so a little spice is a must.
  • pomegranate juice – I recommend the POM Wonderful juice. It’s my personal favorite.
  • spiced rum – I typically reach for Kraken Spiced Rum, but your favorite will be lovely here. If you’re not a fan of spiced rum, regular rum will work as well. (Maybe add an extra cinnamon stick when making your tea.)
  • orange juice – The orange juice adds the perfect amount of bright citrus flavor.
  • simple syrup – You can buy simple syrup or make your own. You can find my recipe HERE. Feel free to adjust the sweetness of this rum punch by adding more or less simple syrup. I prefer this recipe a little sweeter, but feel free to adjust it to your desired sweetness level.
  • prosecco – A little sparkle makes this cocktail feel extra special.
  • pomegranate seeds / sliced oranges – Every drink needs a garnish. I love the combination of pomegranate seeds and orange slices.

Sip, Serve, and Enjoy!

I told you this was easy to make! I assembled mine in a large pitcher and used some punch glasses. If you don’t have punch glasses, there’s no need to go out and buy any as I think this cocktail would be just as lovely when served in a coupe glass or even a rocks glass. (You can find some of my favorite go-to glassware HERE.)

And that’s a wrap on this fall meets holiday pomegranate punch recipe! No matter what season you’re currently celebrating, I hope you enjoy it!

Cheers my friend!
