Basic Muffin Recipe

I don’t know about you, but I love having a delicious base recipe that I can add to or manipulate in order to create dozens of additional recipes. That’s the case with this Basic Muffin recipe.

Want a blueberry muffin? Add blueberries. Lemon Poppy Seed? Add poppy seeds and lemon. Chocolate Chip? Add chocolate chips. You get the point, right? Your delicious options are only limited by your creativity.

I developed this recipe by using my favorite blueberry muffin recipe as a starting point and then tweaked a few things to make it adaptable for any muffin recipe. The results are delicious.

I also wanted to keep this recipe really easy and fuss-free so you only need a few kitchen tools and a mixer isn’t one of them. (I love a recipe that doesn’t involve me cleaning my mixer. Ha!)

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Fold the two together gently. Mix until just barely/almost combined. This is the key to light and tender muffins. Do not overmix.
