Summer Home Tour 2014
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyHello, everyone! This is the first time I’ve ever participated in a blogger home tour series, and I couldn’t be more excited If you are stopping over from The Hunted Interior, welcome! Isn’t Kristin’s home fabulous? I am majorly in love with her outdoor space.
Gina of Shabby Creek Cottage is graciously hosting the 2014 Summer Tour of Homes. You can check out this post for links to the 25 bloggers who are participating in the series. Start there, and each blogger will guide you to the next person on the tour.
But before you do that, now that you’re here, you might as well have a look around my abode. Because I’m weird and the upstairs of my house is in a bit of a transition (meaning it’s a hot mess), we are going to stay on the first floor for this summer house tour. Sound good? Over the past year, there have been a lot of changes in my little house. For those of you who are new to Inspired by Charm, my house previously functioned as a Bed and Breakfast and Gift Shop. About a year and half ago, I closed my B&B and turned this big old 100-year-old house into my home.
This is going to be a photo tour so I will be brief with my words and let the photos do the talking. I will link up any relevant posts below the questions for more information and / or tutorials. If you have any other questions, please leave a comments and I will do my best to answer them.
Enjoy the tour and stay as long as you like. I’ll put on some coffee or pour a cocktail.

Well, I certainly hope you enjoyed looking around today! Hopefully, on the next tour, I can get things together and take you upstairs where all the magic (or lack thereof) happens! Looking at the pictures, I’m reminded how much this house has evolved over the years. I am filled with a sense of pride, but also realize there are so many things to improve and lots of projects left to complete.
Now, don’t let the fun stop here. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, there are 25 bloggers participating in this tour so go check them all out (links below). I sort of feel like a schlub when I compare my home to theirs. For me, it’s just an honor to be included in the tour.
If you are following this tour in order, next up is the uber-talented Jennifer Rizzo. I’m excited to see her happy space all ready for summer!
Thank you again for visiting. I’ll post the full list of bloggers below to make things super easy for you.

Your home is just to die for! I love the attention to every single little detail. My dream is taking a big 100 year-old house and redoing it, so I’m going to live vicariously through you!

Loved it all! You are so creative and your home is really welcoming. Great ideas. 🙂
I have been with you for quite some time and it has been great watching your wonderful old home become what it is today. Absolutely stunning. It was so much fun to examine every picture and discover all the little projects we got to see you create over the last several months. You are so talented and I’m happy you are sharing that talent with us.
I’ve seen bits and pieces of your home here and there but I love seeing it altogether! Your home is so gorgeous and full of inspiration! I’m trying not to pin every image but I can’t help myself haha
Michael, your home is so, so charming and just utterly clever. I love everything you’ve done with putting your own stamp on it and it still has the charm of an old house. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished!
That means so much coming from you Rhoda! Thank you very very much!

Hi Michael! I’ve followed your blog for a while so I’ve seen a lot of these rooms take shape. I loved your home tour because it was fun to see the rooms all together and how your first floor is laid out. Love all the personal details and your style! Well done!
You certainly have Deb! Thank you so much!! 🙂

So fun – love discovering new inspiration! Thank you! Do you have a secret place to get those fabulous vintage street signs you use in your kitchen? (please say yes, please say yes!) I’ve been hunting for just those types of signs at flea markets, and stalking some places on the internet and can’t seem to find what you have!
Andrea
Your home is so gorgeous! Light and bright, yet colorful and full of personality. When can I move in? 🙂
Michael your home is AMAZING!!! I am completely obsessed with the light fixture in your hallway!! Just kept staring at it. LOL! So thrilled and honored to be part of this Summer tour of homes with you!

Michael,
I’ve been following you for a while now — and I just love the way you style…… Your house has such a great energy that I wish we were friends and I could come have a tea with you…
Love what you’ve done and can’t wait to see the upstairs!
Pam
I love how airy and colorful your home is!

I love it ALL! I’ll be moving in next week, mmmkay? 🙂
your home is beyond perfect so bright, just lovely!!!!!!!
Your whole house is stunning, but that light fixture in the entry way is killing it! I’m obsessed!!
Goodness… with every picture I nodded my head. I’m SO glad you were part of this tour Michael, this home makes one fantastic scroll!
And you know I honed into anything old or vintage. You’ve married old with new beautifully! This is one of the most gorgeous tours I’ve ever seen. Are you ready for a few magazines to come calling? It’s coming!
I have always lived in a big old 2 story and will say there is nothing better than spending my days in living history. I am smitten with the lazy susan on the patio table. Did you make it or is repurposed something? Thanks!
Thanks so much Stephanie! It’s actually an old wooden washing machine agitator. Totally a vintage find! Isn’t it great!?
