Yep, that’s how I roll …yesterday I’m talking about diets, today I’m baking over the top deliciousness!
A couple weeks ago I found a recipe for cinnamon rolls that used a cinnamon butter spread. It was dated a while back and when I looked for said cinnamon spread at the grocery store it wasn’t there. So I improvised, made my own spread, and the rolls were fantastic. Based on that little experiment I thought I would take it a little further and use nutella instead of cinnamon, butter, and sugar.
And thus was born Nutella Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing!
And let me tell you, these suckers are delicious!
Ready to get started?
Here’s what you’ll need to make 8 Nutella Rolls
Rolls:
1 can Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
3/4 – 1 cup Nutella
Flour and Sugar for rolling
Cream Cheese Icing:
4oz Cream Cheese (softened)
1 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
That’s it! Let’s go!
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and spraying eight sections of a muffin pan with cooking or baking spray.
Lightly flour and sugar your surface. (I add a little sugar to sweeten up the dough)
Using a rolling pin, roll out each biscuit until it’s about double in size.
Grab your nutella and spread about 1-2 tablespoons on each piece of dough.
Once each piece is rolled, cut into three sections.
Then, place the three pieces, cut side up, into one section of the muffin tin.
Allow the rolls to cool for about five minutes, then remove from the pan.
While the rolls cool, it time to whip up the cream cheese icing! Add the cream cheese, vanilla and powder sugar to a bowl. Whip with a whisk until smooth.
While your rolls are still a little warm on the inside, slather on some icing!
And that’s it! Serve and enjoy!

Or keep the whole plate hidden for yourself. I promise not to tell.
Those look so yummy! I think I just drooled on my keyboard… 😀
Will definitely have to try these… so simple.
Oh. My.
These look AMAZING…..and even better, they look like something that even a “cooking-challenged” person like me can do!
:0)
These look divine Michael!!! I adore the little triple roll you did. Perfection!
Michael, You. Are. Awesome!
How am I ever going to fit into my bathing suit by June when you post such delicious recipes like this 🙂 They look delish.
I saw these and made them right away, my son loves nutella so he loved these. Super easy and yummy!!
These look amazing! Mmmmmm! Can’t wait to try! Love the colorful print backdrop in your photos. Is it a tablecloth? Placemat? Favorite napkin or dish towel? Would love to know if it’s something currently available to find.
Love your blog and ideas! Such an inspiration!
Blessings,
Holly
Those look amazing! I wonder how they would do as each “roll” in a mini muffin pan to serve as finger food. I must try to find out!
I want these!!
I want these!!
I can see already that I’ll need to double this recipe…mmm.
These look amazing! Nutella is my favorite but you are going to ruin my diet, lol!
Michael – This looks delicious, but what I really want to know about it is how you are editing your photos – particularly the small groupings of two and fours (as in the icing preparation). Did you put this altogether using Mac Pages?
Please share!
From diets.. to sweets.. yes, I definitely did a double take when I saw this post! I’m thinking of making this and using Biscoff spread in place of the Nutella. If I do, I will definitely blog about it. If you haven’t tried it — it’s so good it’s bad.
Thanks for the inspiration!
YUMMO!!! Great idea. I’m SO doing this! :)) Thanks for sharing.
YUMMY! Just an idea…to bump it up a notch! Add a little bit of jelly to the nutella or even some cinnamon and sugar! Over the top! Thanks for always being my mid-day break destination! Only wish I lived closet to PA so we could stay the night at the Inn!
Dear Michael,

My children and I just made these with Biscoff spread and chocolate chips. My family thinks I’m a genius! Thanks for a great recipe!
Just got done making it. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
OMG, I am dying for one of these rolls! What a wonderful idea to put three small rolls in one section. They are extremely beautiful and I am pretty sure absolutely delicious!
What a great recipe and it looks so stunning. We don’t have Pillsbury Grands Biscuits in the UK so I guess we can substitute an English scone recipe instead?

I made these for Thanksgiving, & their delicious!!! Not as easy to make as it seems, but thanks for the recipe!
I am the ONE blogger who doesn’t like Nutella. BUT these would be great with cinnamon and sugar! Thanks for the great idea!!
I made these for my friend’s welcome home party. They were a huge hit! They’re pretty, simple, and delicious. Thank you for the great recipe!
Hi, Would you mind putting it in a recipe style document? It is so much easier to just copy/paste or print.
Thanks,
These nutella rolls look so yumm.
My kid loves cupcakes – and I can easily pass these as cupcakes for her snacks (atleast till she gets a hang that these are not the real deal)
First time here – will be back for more.
You have a wonderful site.
Thanx for inspiring me. I didn’t have any Pillsbury, so I kinda changed the dough and made my own version. But still wanted to let you know that I linked to your article for giving me the idea. http://www.sabotagebuch.de/wordpress/2014/01/29/nutellabroetchen-mal-anders/
Thx,
Sandra
SO glad you shared this! This combo is my favorite. I love to make plain vanilla cupcakes and I mix nutella, cream cheese, and a dash of whipping cream to loosen it up. It’s a godsend and I will literally eat every cupcake just to get that nutella goodness!
Yum , making these NOW!
Made these last night. We had an early dinner and I just needed a little something sweet 🙂 I used a can of small biscuits instead of the jumbo ones (because that’s what I had on hand) and they came out much smaller, but still delicious. I skipped the icing and just sprinkled with powdered sugar, mostly because I was too lazy to make the icing! They were great this morning too warmed up with a cup of tea. Thanks for posting, it was just what I needed.
These look amazing and easy! Thank-you for the recipe.
Could I replace the nutella with Peanut Butter or something else?….
Just made these! My family loved them! I used all the frosting, but it was a bit too much (words I didn’t think I’d ever say!). I think you could use half the frosting amount and they would be perfect! I only had enough Nutella to do 4 biscuits. The other 4 I smeared butter and cinnamon sugar on before rolling up. Delicious! Thank you for this wonderful, easy, yet elegant looking recipe!
Any suggestions on the best way to store them? Is love to try these with cinnamon roll filling too. These are awesome!
