Bayberry House Paint Colors

One of the questions I am frequently asked is, “What paint color is that?” It’s not surprising that folks want to know this because I often find myself asking other people the same thing.

Today, I thought we’d walk around my home and I’d share all of the current Bayberry House Paint Colors. (If you’re new here, Bayberry House is what I call my home.) I will continue to update this color guide as I make changes to my home. My goal is to have this post be a resource for you anytime you find yourself asking, “What paint color is that?”

Before we get into all of my current paint colors, I want to mention a few things.

  • First, Bayberry House is the second house I’ve purchased. If you are looking through the images and colors below and can’t find what you’re searching for, it may be that you’re looking for a room from my previous place. Don’t worry, I put together a similar post for the house I owned in St. Marys, PA. You can find all of those paint colors here.
  • Second, you’ll notice that several rooms of my current home are not listed below. Any room that’s not listed is still painted the basic beige color that was on the walls before I bought it. Again, I will update this post when I paint rooms.
  • Third, if you’re curious about how I go about picking paint colors for my home, then check out my post here. Paint selection can be tricky, so I did my best to break down the process and give you tips and tricks for choosing paint.
  • Finally, it’s important to know that the paint colors we see online and in photos of other folk’s spaces can be misleading. I always highly recommend buying small cans of paint and testing colors on your walls before investing in gallons of paint. I’ve learned this from experience. I’ve seen lots of colors that I loved in someone else’s home, only to discover they didn’t work in mine. Many things, such as the direction your home faces, the number of windows it has, and the color of floor covering can impact how paint colors will look in a space. (Learn more about my paint selection process here.)

Now that I’ve shared all of that, let me walk you through Bayberry House Paint Colors.

The paint colors are listed and linked below each photo. I’ve also included a link to a recent blog post of each of the rooms. This will allow you to click through if you want to get a closer look at a space or have questions about any details in it.

  1. Dear Michael,
Your home is spotless. Though how you decorate is fun and eclectic, I live in the woods and the inspiration I derive from your photos and blogs is tampered down because, though I would love an attractively managed home…I don’t see it as attainable for me. My kitchen would be considered a disaster zone compared to yours. I have been told it is considered a “working” kitchen. I leave things out so I can see where it is. Maybe I could use some advice from you. Even after reading your blog about actually painting my cabinets in my kitchen I am considering it. Otherwise I would cost me $20,000 to give my kitchen the make-over it needs with buying new cabinets and restructuring the space. I could go on…but there it is in a nut-shell. Your friend, Sherri Becker from the Northwoods of Wisconsin

  2. Thank you! I love that your colors create a warm, inviting home! Question: which fr brand/ color flooring do you have? Thanks for sharing.

  3. Looking at the exterior of your house it looks as though your front door is black. I’m not sure as the picture shows the door far away. We are going to be painting our front door and garage door black and could use a good recommendation for an exterior black color. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  4. Dear Michael:
You have such immense talent in so many areas. I am a retired registered nurse and have taken on a new type of challenge in my life…redecorating an old cottage. Your design ideas are so fitting for a warm, relaxing and yet sophisticated feel. Thank you so much for sharing the wonderful work you have done and continue to accomplish. ❤️

  5. Your home has such a lovely, peaceful flow. I haven’t wanted to repaint my home this badly since the Martha Stewart paint days. (Not bad company!) And, I know I highly prefer painting with Benjamin Moore far more than her paint brand. Inspire on, Michael, you have a gift!

  6. Michael, I love your beautiful home and your decor style! It’s such a treat to be brought into your world to see all the lovely you’ve created. I can’t wait for the holidays! Don’t ever stop what your doing, I love it!

  7. I am new to your account. I LOVE it. Your attention to detail is impeccable. I love the style and colors you have chosen for each of your rooms. I look forward to checking out all of your old previous posts when I get a little time. A great way to spend an afternoon. I loved the glass doors on the base cabinet in your peninsula. What a unique idea that I had not seen before. Thank you for inspiring me.

  8. The combination of light colors are really stunning. Relaxing and calming to the eyes. So nice to stay at home if you have this combination. I would like to share your painting style with my guys at painters north sydney so that they will have more brilliant ideas in their jobs. Thank you for your blogpost my friend.

  9. Your home is just beautiful I have been following you for years and love all your recipes and home inspiration. Thank you for sharing all the colors in your home. You have done a wonderful job with Bayberry house and can’t wait to see what you do next.

  10. I have a tiny home maybe 900 sq. Ft. Want beach colors for my bathroom. It has a window which lets in lots of light. Actually the whole house is delightfully bright. Anyway bathroom faces south and is not really that small for such a small home. I do love the color blue but not blue blue if that makes sense. Suggestions?
    Thanks for your help!

    1. Unfortunately without seeing your space, knowing how the sunlight enters your home, and many other factors – I really can’t provide a recommendation. Do a little research online and then test some colors out to see what you like best.

      xo Michael

  11. Hi Michael:

Love your Bayberry Home. You have really improved it from its original glory. Now it is even more glorious. Got a question for you. I notice in your master bathroom, you have satin pewter fixtures, I believe satin black knobs and the lighting fixtures are satin gold. Is there a reason for mixing the pewter with the gold. I always thought you were to match fixtures and lights. I am certainly not a decorator by an means, but just wondering. Thanks so much for all your ideas and examples.

    1. Well, to be honest the satin chrome fixtures were existing and not something I wanted to change. However, I love mixing metals for a more eclectic and collected look. I’d say 2-3 different metals is the max for one space.

      xo Michael

  12. Love yourhouse!,! I used farrow n balls blue in my house in ireland and tried to match it here but failed…love that color.

  13. Your home always presents so well and is beautifully pulled together. Always a treat to read your posts. Thanks for sharing your creativity with and inspiring us!

  14. Michael,

You by far, are my favorite blogger. I absolutely love your taste, all of your recipes and can’t tell you how many times you have inspired me to try something new. Some day, I am going to take pictures of my house to show you how you have inspired/influenced me.

Thank you- you’ve made these stay at home days a lot more fun.
    Stay well!

  15. Thank you! We are just developing a plan to update our kitchen and I want white, white, and more white, however, I’ve been agonizing over the whites. This is a great jumping off point. I will start with some test areas to see how they look in my light, but at least your wall and cabinet colors from the kitchen give me a decision made and I can move forward! Love everything you do, have watched you develop all kinds of beautiful things for a long time (nine or ten years?) You’re amazing!

  16. I have followed you for a long time, back to the former B&B. Every time you would change things I’d think that you shouldn’t mess with perfection. Your changes always got better, just when I thought you couldn’t improve on what you had. Your design style and color sense just keep getting better and Bayberry House is a perfect canvas for your creativity and obvious talent. Bravo.

    1. You have no idea how much this comment means to me. Thank you so very much!! I like to change things around, but I’m always worried I’m going to “mess it up.” While I still don’t get things right 100% of the time, I’m glad to know that you’re enjoying the process and feel things are always getting better. This makes me so happy! Thank you! Thank you!

      xo Michael
