If I didn’t need to work in order to pay my bills, I would probably sit on my porch all summer long eating or drinking something delicious, listening to music, and watching the traffic on my street. In my opinion, it doesn’t get much better or more simple than that. Those are the moments of summer (and life in general) that I look forward to the most. The ones that come together with hardly any effort, but mean so much.
I’ve always found it amazing how you can take a few simple things, weave them together, and make something that means so much more. Triscuit crackers are kind of my go-to for this kind of snack creation. Pared with something or eaten alone, they are perfect. Obviously, the people over at Triscuit think so, too. This summer Triscuit is showing that it’s more than just a cracker by teaming up with fellow craftsmen to share Makers of More.
Being a maker of sorts, I loved this idea! So today, I’m inviting you over for porch sitting accompanied by sangria, snacks, and some of my favorite tunes.
One of the featured makers is Olympia Provisions. They have mastered the craft of charcuterie. Everything they make is handcrafted naturally. Ingredients are their inspiration, and they seek out the best and freshest. This year they teamed up with Triscuit to create a Summer Sausage that’s perfect for the cracker. It looks so delicious!
However, for our little party today. I’m featuring their Sopressata and Chorizo Rioja. Served with cheese on a Triscuit, it’s snacking heaven.
The light freshness of this particular sangria pairs perfectly with our afternoon snacking. Plus, it’s super simple to whip up. Let me show you.
Here's what you will need:
1 bottle dry white wine (I prefer Sauvignon Blanc.)
3/4 cup orange liqueur (I prefer Cointreau.)
1 lemon, quartered and sliced
1 orange, quartered and sliced
6 large strawberries, sliced
1 green apple, cored, quartered, and sliced
2 cups lemon lime soda
In a large pitcher, combine the above ingredients except for the lemon lime soda. Chill for several hours.
Just before serving top with the lemon lime soda. Serve in a glass with ice.
That’s it, friends – the perfect plan for a delicious and delightful afternoon.
I hope you enjoy this recipe and our little porch party. For more information on Triscuit, visit them on Pinterest.
