Halloween Entryway Decor Ideas

I’ve been wanting to do this witch-themed Halloween entryway decor since last year. You might remember that around this time a year ago, I had my new entryway cabinetry installed. I wanted to get it decorated for the season and then life happened and it just didn’t come together.

Well, this year I was determined to bring it to life and I did just that!

Let’s take a look at how this Halloween entryway decor came together!

The overall theme for this look was to create something witchy. I knew I would need a hat, a broom, and some shoes. (I’ve linked as many of the sources as I could at the end of this post.)

From there, I wanted to keep the color scheme to black, cream, and natural. I actually tried decorating this a few different times with more color and different decor and it just didn’t work. In the end, I went back to my first color combo choice and I’m loving it!

As I mentioned in my Fall Home Tour, I’m trying really hard not to bring extra “stuff” into my home so I used a lot of what I had and then added in other necessary items.

You might remember the paper mâché ghosts and cat that I used last year on my Halloween table. While these are reproductions, I love their vintage feel. (You can find the large ghoul faced bucket HERE.)

The broom was a hand-me-down from my Dad’s wife. She wasn’t using it anymore and I mentioned I needed one. It’s perfect!

The “Spooky” banner is from My Mind’s Eye. (You can find it HERE.) They have THE BEST paper goods and party supplies. I highly recommend checking them out.

From there I just filled in with baskets, brooms, a black feather wreath (from HomeGoods), and some fuzzy spiders. I even used some of my DIY colored wheat to bring some of that straw color and texture to the shelf.

Luckily, the pillows that I had here before fit in perfectly thanks to their black and cream color scheme. To make them a little bit spookier. I tucked in this really odd cat/pumpkin pillow which I found at a local antique store. It fit in perfectly!

And with that, my witch-inspired Halloween entryway decor was complete. Or so I thought …

Since every witch needs their cat, I enlisted Leo’s help for a few photos. (Ruby and Jax are not a fan of the camera so they weren’t part of the photoshoot!) Leo fit in perfectly, although I think he makes this whole space look more on the cute side rather than spooky! Ha.

  1. So well done, love the look you created with just the three simple colors…however, I must say Leo >^^<was the best part of the arrangement 😉
Thank you for all your inspiration!
    Happy Haunting~D

  2. I’m in the UK paid an arm and a leg to ship that bunting flag over. Totally worth it. Even found the witch shoes on Amazon for £50. I made my own little version of your entryway. So cute.

  3. This is wonderful, love the grey paint in your entry. I feel you would be the perfect Grandson. We would have so much in common. Looking forward to the holidays. I hope you don’r feel too pressured to always have to come up with a whole new plan. Traditions are nice. Tweaks are nice.

  4. I appreciate your style, this area especially. I even splurged & bought that wreath from my HomeGoods to complement my mantel decor. Thank you for the inspiration!

  5. Definitely, your cat truly makes your entry come alive.
I, too have been trying to reduce the amount of STUFF in my house. Excited to see the Cinnamon Nut recipe. Solves the question of what to give the ladies in my Sunday School class for Christmas. We all have too much stuff. They can even reuse the jar. Now, waiting for Publix to put pecans and walnuts on sale.

  6. Leo is the perfect finishing touch to this entryway. I love what you have done and just ordered the shoes plus purple and black stripe socks to complete a really nice witch costume I have built over a few years. In the meantime, the shoes can sit next to this years newest halloween decor item, a really beautiful witchy broom made in Ukraine and sold on etsy. I have wanted one for a long time. We decorate a lot for Halloween, adore the fall colors. Your vintage looking pieces are fabulous, my favorite style!
