I don’t know about you, but this summer has been a busy one for me. I am thankful, though, because it has meant lots of fun times with my family and friends.

Whenever I head to someone’s house, I always like to bring something with me. Whether it is a big pitcher of sangria, a tray of cupcakes, or another yummy treat, I try not to show up empty-handed.

Although I tend to rely on a few standard recipes, I always keep an eye out for something new. Any recipe that is delicious, easy, and affordable is a winner in my book! If it involves cheese, so much the better!

How To Make a Buffalo Cheese Ball:

I’ve found that cheese balls are always popular at parties. They are a tasty snack, and you can get really creative with the ingredients. Since I’m also a big fan of buffalo chicken, I knew that combining the two would be a match made in heaven.

I love to make pesto pasta salad: mix cooked pasta with pesto sauce; add a container of crumbled feta cheese; top with toasted pine nuts and voila! You can also add shredded or cubed chicken.

It depends on the type of party – either pesto pasta salad, shrimp/cream cheese dip with crackers or some sort of cookie as I bake cookies all the time!

My homemade salsa and chips are always asked for when I bring an appetizer for a party.

I like to go seasonal and fresh so in the summer I use my bumper crop of basil and make Caprese Salad mini-skewers (cherry tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella) and a balsamic dipping sauce or fresh grilled pizza cut into bite-sized squares, 2″ or 3″.

I like to prepare a spinach dip in a bread bowl. I have tried several different recipes from online. It’s easy and always popular.

I take my Taco Dip in a crock pot to keep it it warm, and a bag of chips. There is never any to bring back home!

My go to recipe for parties is usually peanut butter, cream cheese browny cupcakes. Super easy and look good too. Buffalo chicken dip is also a frequent partier, easily made and warmed in a mini- crockpot.

Can never go wrong with a trifle 🙂

I love to layer a jar of salsa in a round glass baking dish with 8 oz of cream cheese cut into pieces and a can of diced jalapenos. Cover with shredded cheese and bake @350 for 20 minutes or just until the cheese has melted. Serve with tortilla chips!

Freeze grapes. You can put them in drinks or just eat them. So good.

It the winter months I like to do cheese dip in a mini crockpot or Italian Wantons. They’re slightly labor intensive but incredibly delicious and I always get compliments on them. In the summer I like to put homemade pesto and cooked tortellini on a tray and party snackers can just dip the pasta into the pesto with tiny toothpicks. Tasty and adorable!

My most-requested party snack is my homemade spinach and artichoke dip. It tastes great hot or room temperature. I serve it with tortilla chip scoops. I always bring home an empty dish, and get requests for the recipe!
