Gradient Rainbow Christmas Tree

Anyway, I was finally able to decorate tree #2 yesterday. For those of you who were following IBC last year, it’s going to look pretty familiar.
Please welcome back my Gradient Rainbow Christmas tree!
Hands down, this is my favorite holiday decoration. I did, however, make a few changes to this year’s version. First, and probably most noticeable, I have a new tree. My friends at Treetopia sent me this gorgeous Slim Spruce Christmas Tree. Not that I’ve owned a lot of Christmas trees, but this is by far the nicest artificial tree I’ve ever seen.
It’s so full, and I love how the branches are set up and stick out of the tree. It makes decorating much easier.
I also added a star to the top of the tree. As you might have guessed, it’s vintage. I found it on eBay. Shopping eBay can be a great source for beautiful vintage ornaments and tree toppers.
The topper is kind of perfect. It’s easy to see why I’m loving how this tree came together.
In addition to the new tree and topper, I also have a brand new tree skirt. Last year I used a table cloth, but wasn’t completely satisfied with the look. This year I found this incredible tree skirt from Red Envelope. Unfortunately, they are no longer in business, so I will treasure this purchase.
The detail in it is stunning. I also love how it ties in with the bottom colors of the tree. What luck, right?
All of the balls on the tree are glass. I have a bit of a glass ornament obsession. (As you can see.) If you’re wondering, I tried to count and there are over 300 ball ornaments on this tree. Say what!?
There are all different types of ball ornaments on this tree. Some are matte, some are shiny. Some are small, some are large.
There are event some glittery ones tucked in here and there. The only qualification is that they were glass and a ball.
Wait, I lied. I have a few glass bird ornaments tucked in here and there.
The ribbon around the tree is burlap.
Oh, and if you like this tree, I made a wreath to match! Check out my DIY Gradient Rainbow Christmas Wreath here.
Okay, now for a few more pictures. Ready, set, go!

She’s a beauty, right?
Oh, in case you’re wondering, my vintage-inspired tree has been relocated to the dining room. (You can learn how to make those candlesticks on the table here.)
Initially I tried this tree in there, but it was just a bit too big for the space. This is a much better fit.
Thank you so much for indulging me as I posted way too many pictures today of my gradient rainbow Christmas tree!
Feliz Navidad!
Michael,
OH MY GOODNESS.
Your trees.
Your ornaments.
Your house.
It is all spectacular. You do such a great job.
And that tree skirt is so awesome, it reminds me of a pillow I have. So charming!!
Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
Melissa!!! I can’t tell you how much this means coming from you!! Thank you SO much! 🙂

Great give away! I love all the color in your home.
Oh M!!!! I’m so glad this tree made a comeback… I can’t get over how gorgeous it turns out. And I LOVE your new taller tree too! This truly is such a show stopper and will be hard to top! Good luck with that! 😉
There can’t be TOO many pictures of this – it’s fabulous! I really like the extra gold balls sticking out at the top, and the burlap ribbon as a backdrop/counterpoint to all the shiny color. I didn’t think you could improve on last year’s tree design (with the buffalo-checked tablecloth tree skirt), but you’ve done it!
Love the second tree too, and how the paint-dipped brass candlesticks on the gold polka-dot table runner add to the scrumptious feel. Both trees, and the extra accents, are enthralling designs for a lot of inspiration.
Beautiful!!!!! You decorate the best Christmas trees, Michael!!! I wish I had the room to have more than one! Thanks for sharing more of your holiday goodness!!!
The Tree is beautiful, my tree is an old one with old decorations so we don’t have any color format
Such a lovely Christmas Tree! I love the tips you shared for decorating because whenever I wrap ribbon around the Christmas Tree it ends up looking goofy. I’ll have to use more this time around and not pull it as tight around. Thank you!
Laura
Your tree is fantastic! I wish I had thought of this myself. As a matter of fact, after last year I promised myself I would do this, but then I got complacent and did the same old thing. I think I need another tree!
I love both your trees! I should mention I am in mourning now, because my vintage inspired white Christmas tree no longer has working lights. 🙁 Your trees have inspired me to go back out there and fall in love all over again! Fantastic idea doing a gradient in color with the bulbs!!
Michael,
What a gorgeous tree. I look forward to every post and this one is by far my favorite. Everyone in my office is having me forward the post.
Thanks!
What a beautiful feast-for-my-eyes way to start my day! It’s simply gorgeous! Perfect!
LOOOOOOVE this!
Seriously! I loved it when I first saw it on Facebook! But the tree skirt? Seriously? I am running with reebok tennis shoes on to Red Envelope to get one!
Thanks for the inspiration rock star!

Obsessed. This tree just makes me so happy. I need more trees. I only have 2. Tragedy, right?
Oh, wow! So so so pretty! Okay, I have a question. It’s a little off topic. Where did you get those bamboo blinds? And what is the color you selected? I’m in the process of selecting bamboo blinds for my house, and I love yours!
Kim – check back soon, I’ll be doing a full post on the blinds ASAP. However I got them at selectblinds.com and ADORE them.

Michael,
I know you posted this some time ago, but I love this teee! Do you mind if I ask where you got the bulb fixture along the top?
Hey Nicole, it’s vintage. eBay would be your best bet if you’re looking for something similar.
