With the outdoor entertaining season upon us, I thought we could use a yummy and easy fruit dip recipe.
For as long as I can remember, this is the fruit dip that my mom has made. For me, it’s a requirement for summer barbecues at home. (Oh, and if you need a vegetable dip, this Really Good Veggie Dip is a winner! It’s my go-to recipe!)
Although I’m probably partial to this dip for sentimental reasons, I also recommend it because it is one of the best fruit dip recipes out there.
What I love is that it’s so simple to make. Better still, you likely already have most of the ingredients in your pantry or refrigerator, or they’re just an online order away. All you need is cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, yogurt, and a splash of maraschino cherry juice!
The cream cheese gives it tang, the marshmallow makes it fluffy, and the yogurt keeps it smooth.
I also like the pale pink color, which you might guess is from the maraschino cherry juice. If you don’t have any on hand or don’t want to use it, no worries! You can substitute a splash of grenadine, a bit of strawberry jelly, or even a little red food coloring.

This dip is wonderful! I took it to a luncheon with a group of ladies and it was the hit of the day, Thank you for sharing this delicious addition to a fruit platter. We all do breast cancer fundraising so the pink color was perfect with the rest of the decor.
For this dip, all you need is a fork!
I have used sugar free jello. Just a teaspoon or so to flavor and color dip. Also I use my medium food processor and spray plastic scraper and inside of processor with just a small amount of cooling spray so the marshmallow cream doesn’t stick so bad
I live in nz and what is a jarof marshmello?
Thanks
Can you use a flavored yogurt like honey or strawberry?
Not sure if I could make this in these times of Covid, but… I’m putting it in my recipe book (a looseleaf binder) to keep for the future. Thank you for another good recipe, Michael, and a reminder that good times will come again.
Even though you’ve been making it for years, it’s a new twist on an old favorite for me. The fruit dip I’ve been making for decades is simply 7 oz. of marshmallow creme + 8 oz. cream cheese. I like the idea of adding the yogurt & cherry juice. I must try this variation. Thanks for sharing!!
Yaay – this is what I’ve been looking for! It’s beautiful and sounds fabulous! I sure with I could have gone to your bed and breakfast! 🙂
You are correct! This is the greatest fruit dip – I have been making it for years. It is also really good on a fork . . . . ; )
I make something similar. A container of Cool Whip, a container or yogurt, mix together. You use whatever flavor yogurt that compliments the fruit you’re serving. It thickens if you let it sit in the fridge a little while.
add a splash of Grand Marnier! over the top!!!
Looks yummy! I’d like to know where you got your fruit platter!
The actual plate? It’s from CB2. I’m not sure if they still carry it.
