Chicken Caprese Pasta Salad
As you might know, we love pasta salad here on Inspired by Charm. I’ve made dozens of classic and unique pasta salad recipes and I still get excited when I can add a new one to the list. Today we’re making Chicken Caprese Pasta Salad.
I’ve seen a few variations of this recipe floating around online and they always looked so appetizing. That is why I wanted to give my own version a try. The result is delicious.
If you’re not familiar with caprese salad, it’s an Italian dish made of tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. It’s seasoned with salt, pepper, and olive oil. Other variations include a drizzle of balsamic vinegar or balsamic glaze. No matter how you serve it, it’s so fresh and flavorful.
To make this Chicken Caprese Pasta Salad, I used the three traditional ingredients mentioned above as a starter and then tossed them with roasted chicken and pasta. The results are delicious and create a perfect side for any occasion or celebration.

How to Make Chicken Caprese Pasta Salad
This recipe is really simple!
In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta (I used farfalle), tomatoes, basil, chicken, and mozzarella. (There is a full ingredient list as well as detailed instructions in the printable recipe card below.)
Then, in a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano.
Add the dressing to the pasta mixture and toss to evenly coat.
Chill for 1-2 hours before serving.

Chicken Caprese Pasta Salad
- 12 ounces cooked pasta - (I used farfalle)
- 2 cups halved cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup julienned fresh basil
- 1 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken breasts
- 8 ounces mozzarella - cubed
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, tomatoes, basil, chicken, and mozzarella.
