Made with caramel vodka, apple cider, and ginger beer, this Caramel Apple Cider Moscow Mule combines the flavors of the season with a classic mule to create a crisp, refreshing, and autumnal libation you’re going to love.

You’ll Love this Moscow Mule for Fall:
I don’t know about you, but I love a moscow mule! Recently I was at a local restaurant and they had a caramel apple cider moscow mule on the menu. I ordered it and knew after one sip that I needed to recreate this recipe at home so I could share it with you!

I like this recipe because it takes the things I love about a moscow mule and puts a fall twist on them. Additions like caramel vodka (which is one of my favorite flavored vodkas), fresh apple cider, and a few seasonal garnishes make this a quintessential fall cocktail. Because it’s so crisp, cool, and refreshing, this cocktail recipe works well on one of those sunny and warmer fall days.

Want to give this fall cocktail a try? Let me walk you through the ingredient list and recipe instructions.
Ingredients:
Have you ever wondered, “What’s in a moscow mule?” Well, I’m about to break that mystery and then in turn share how I switched it up a bit for fall!
- caramel vodka: Traditionally, unflavored vodka is used here but I wanted to add that great caramel flavor, so I used caramel vodka.
- lime juice: Lime juice adds a refreshing brightness to a moscow mule. Because I thought it might be odd here, I tried it with and without. I recommend adding the lime juice.
- apple cider: Fresh apple cider is a must. This is the one ingredient that you won’t find in a standard moscow mule. However, I wanted to add in that fresh apple flavor and this was the way to do it.
- ginger beer: Ginger beer adds flavor and bite. Ginger is also a spice associated with the fall season, so it works especially well here.

You’ll ‘Need” a Copper Mug:
It’s also worth mentioning that moscow mules are traditionally served in a copper mug. Why? Well, there are a several reasons:
- It’s tradition.
- The metal keeps the drink cool and refreshing.
- It is said that the copper oxidizes when the vodka touches it; this in turn slightly boosts the aroma and enhances the taste of the vodka.
- It just looks pretty.

You can find the copper mugs I used HERE. They are a bit pricey as they are the real deal, but I do recommend them. If you’re looking for a more affordable version, try THESE.
Don’t have a copper mug? Don’t worry. There’s no need to go out and buy something new to enjoy this recipe. A collins glass or even a large rocks glass will work great!
