This Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini is sweet, tart, and refreshingly delicious. It’s a pretty cocktail that will brighten any occasion or celebration.
Lemon-based cocktails are some of my favorites and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share another one with you. In this post, I’m explaining how to make a blueberry lemon drop martini.
Recently I shared how to make a classic lemon drop martini and a lemon drop shot. You all enjoyed these so much that I decided to put a spin on the classic and try it with blueberries. I love a fruity cocktail recipe and this one has jumped to the top of my favorites list.
After testing a few recipes and variations, I’m happy to report I’ve developed a delicious and beautiful martini. I think you’re going to love it too.
Why You’ll Enjoy This Recipe
- It’s easy to make. Shaking up a delicious martini doesn’t need to be difficult. You’ll be able to put this together in no time.
- The flavors are bright and refreshing. Blueberries and lemons are such a fabulous flavor combination and they really shine in this libation.
- It’s unique. As much as I can appreciate a classic recipe, I love shifting things slightly to create something unexpected. The color alone makes this cocktail special.
- Party Perfect. If you’re hosting a party, this recipe works great. Just mix up a large batch so guests will be able to shake up one and serve themselves.
Ingredients
Ready to try this blueberry lemon drop martini? Let’s do it. Here’s what you’ll need:
- fresh blueberries – I highly recommend going with fresh blueberries.
- fresh lemon juice – Again, use freshly squeezed here for the best flavor. The store-bought bottle variety just doesn’t cut it.
- simple syrup – This adds a bit of sweetness to your cocktail. You can make your own or purchase some at the store.
- vodka – When making martinis, I always recommend using a premium vodka. I used Grey Goose here, but Tito’s is also fabulous and a bit more affordable.
- lemon wedge and granulated sugar – These are for garnishing because what’s a lemon drop martini without a sugar rim?
How To Make
This recipe is pretty straightforward, but I’ll walk you through it regardless. For your convenience, I’ve also provided a full ingredient list and detailed instructions in the printable recipe card below.
- Begin by rimming a martini glass with sugar. Set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blueberries.
- Add lemon juice, simple syrup, and vodka.
- Fill the shaker with ice and cover it.
- Shake vigorously.
- Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the cocktail into the prepared martini glass.
- Garnish with extra blueberries.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes to an hour.
Serve, cheers, and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
I highly recommend using fresh ingredients for this recipe. Avoid frozen blueberries and bottled lemon juice. Since this recipe has very few ingredients, you’ll want to choose the best ones possible.
Serve it cold. Most martini-style cocktails are best served cold. Be sure to shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. If using a metal shaker the outside should be gold and frosty.
Use a muddler like this one to make smashing the blueberries easy. Don’t have one? The back of a wooden spoon will work too.
Looking to create a garnish as I did? You’ll love these silver cocktail picks. I use them for so many of my cocktail garnishes.
