This Veggie Pizza (shaped like a wreath) is a delicious, easy, and beautiful appetizer recipe you’ll come to love again and again.
With February behind us, my thoughts are turning to spring. I’m excited about the warmer weather, longer days, and splash of color, but I’m also ready for a new season of food (and this veggie pizza recipe)!
As we come out of hibernation, we want lighter fare and fresh veggies. Right? Inspired by the upcoming change of season, and with spring holidays such as Easter and Mother’s Day on my mind, I always like to have a few ideas for simple nibbles.
One of my favorite quick and flavorful appetizers is veggie pizza. My dad’s wife makes this at least once or twice in the summer, and it’s always something I look forward to.
Inspired by spring, I decided to switch up the standard veggie pizza shape. Crescent rolls form the crust of this pizza. Simply slice and arrange them in a circular pattern on a round pizza tray to create a wreath shape.
Who Do you Make Veggie Pizza?
Once baked and cooled, it’s ready to top.
What Do You Put on Veggie Pizza?
I used a variety of veggies for my pizza, including broccoli, cauliflower, orange bell pepper, green onions, radishes, and carrots. I kept things mostly orange and green for a light and fresh look.
However, you’re free to use whatever vegetables you and your family love. This pizza is also a great way to use up any miscellaneous fresh veggies.
Let me walk you through the recipe.
Veggie Pizza Wreath
serves 8-10 people
Here's what you will need:
2 packages (8 ounces) crescent rolls
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
½ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
½ pack ranch dressing powdered mix
3 cups assorted vegetables, diced
¾ cheddar cheese, shredded
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Remove crescent rolls from the package. Do not unroll. Cut each roll into eight slices. Arrange in a circle on an ungreased 14-inch round pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on the pan for at least 5 minutes before carefully removing to a serving plate to cool completely.
In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix until smooth. Then, spread this mixture over the baked rolls. Top with assorted vegetables and cheese. Chill for an hour in the refrigerator before serving.
