Welcome to my Spring Home Tour! I’m so excited to be joining a crew of fabulous bloggers for the Spring Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours hosted by the always lovely Lindsey of The White Buffalo Styling Co. I will link up all of the participating bloggers are at the bottom of this post. I highly recommend that you check out everyone’s space. To anyone who’s visiting IBC for the first time, welcome to my blog and my home!

It feels as if not much has changed since our last little tour, but I figured I’d show you around anyway. As you might have guessed from the many food posts on IBC in recent weeks, I’ve been struggling a bit with my design and creativity muscle lately. Much like my physical muscles, I need to get my butt in gear and start working out.

As in past tours, I will mostly let the pictures do the talking and throw in a few links here and there. If you have any questions, just note them in the comment section below. If you’re looking for paint color sources, everything is listed here. I’m currently working with my graphic designer to improve this list and its functionality, so please stay tuned for that.

Ready? Let’s do this!

Our first stop is the dining room. It looks pretty much the same. I’m still very much in love with the gray and immensely grateful that Nate pushed me to make the change. Last week I shared a few ideas for styling centerpieces for your dining room table if that’s ever a struggle for you.

In the entryway, I installed this DIY coat hook. It came in handy for my mom’s 60th birthday party. I also found that orchids do exceptionally well (when watered) in this space, so I’m totally loving that.

Over in the office, things are looking familiar as well. I’m trying hard to limit the amount of “stuff” I have around. I’m not quite where I want to be, but I’m making progress.

In the living room, I decided to do something new for spring. In the past, there was a lot of color happening in this space. Although I loved that, I’ve pared things down to mostly blue, green, and yellow. Naturally, a few other colors can be seen in the rug and some of the accessories, but for the most part, the color scheme has been refined. I think it’s more cohesive and relaxed.

The kitchen really hasn’t changed at all. I’m itching to replace the countertops and backsplash. I know it’s going to be a job and half so I’ve been procrastinating. However, I think it needs to happen sooner than later.

Heading upstairs, I’ve moved around a few things in my bedroom and added accessories. I’m hoping to make some progress with wall art / decor in the near future.

This winter, my guest bedroom received an updated paint treatment above the fireplace. I also wanted to point out how well this little cactus garden is doing. It’s grown so tall.

  1. Oh wow – this is absolutely stunning!!! I am so in love with your style and your design choices. The unexpected little touches like the pink chest of drawers and the fantastic mix of pillows on the sofa just make your spaces amazing!!! I love that your decorating is not cookie cutter, like so much of what is out there. Very refreshing to see someone follow their heart when it comes to decorating their home.

  2. I just realized I don’t think I have ever paid attention to the light fixture over the entry table. I know you did a post on the entry, did I miss the fixture? All of your lighting fixtures are awesome. Your home is beautiful and you really should be doing photos for a magazine. Perfection.

    1. Peggy – thank you so much! What a compliment!! I’m not sure I ever really talked much about that fixture. It was from Pottery Barn about 5 – 6 years ago. They no longer carry it. However, it’s called the Edison Chandelier. You might have luck finding it on eBay.

      Hope that helps. Thanks again!

I mean your closet is insane, and I looove your dining room. Your style is flawless!!!! Love every single detail Invite me over!!

    1. Alana – It’s actually from CB2. I’m not sure if they still sell it. I did switch up the pole to a natural wood.

      Hope that helps!

I like how you repurposed the counter from your gift shop.
Enjoy the beautiful home you have created.

  8. I know I sound like a crazy person but I am just totally in love with your home, Michael! Every time I see it my love grows, lol! No seriously, though it’s obvious you thought out every single detail and it all works perfectly together. I love the hooks behind your door and the greenery, fruit, flowers, light fixtures, etc. Great tour!

  9. beautiful home! I just bought my first home and you’re definitely a source of inspiration for decorating! Where is the circle rug from in the second photo?

    1. You are correct. I found it at an antique shop in Portland, OR. Try eBay though. I feel like I’ve seen one similar there before.
