Nutella Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing

Yep, that’s how I roll …yesterday I’m talking about diets, today I’m baking over the top deliciousness!

A couple weeks ago I found a recipe for cinnamon rolls that used a cinnamon butter spread. It was dated a while back and when I looked for said cinnamon spread at the grocery store it wasn’t there. So I improvised, made my own spread, and the rolls were fantastic. Based on that little experiment I thought I would take it a little further and use nutella instead of cinnamon, butter, and sugar.

And thus was born Nutella Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing!

And let me tell you, these suckers are delicious!

Ready to get started?

Here’s what you’ll need to make 8 Nutella Rolls

Rolls:
1 can Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
3/4 – 1 cup Nutella
Flour and Sugar for rolling

Cream Cheese Icing:
4oz Cream Cheese (softened)
1 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

That’s it! Let’s go!

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and spraying eight sections of a muffin pan with cooking or baking spray.

Lightly flour and sugar your surface. (I add a little sugar to sweeten up the dough)

Using a rolling pin, roll out each biscuit until it’s about double in size.

Grab your nutella and spread about 1-2 tablespoons on each piece of dough.

Then, roll up your dough.

Once each piece is rolled, cut into three sections.

Then, place the three pieces, cut side up, into one section of the muffin tin.

Repeat for all eight rolls.

Bake for about 15 minutes.

Allow the rolls to cool for about five minutes, then remove from the pan.

While the rolls cool, it time to whip up the cream cheese icing! Add the cream cheese, vanilla and powder sugar to a bowl. Whip with a whisk until smooth.

While your rolls are still a little warm on the inside, slather on some icing!

And that’s it! Serve and enjoy!

    Dear Michael,

“Yep, that’s how I roll …yesterday I’m talking about diets, today I’m baking over the top deliciousness!”

That line gave me a well needed laugh. You are great.

YUMMY! Just an idea…to bump it up a notch! Add a little bit of jelly to the nutella or even some cinnamon and sugar! Over the top! Thanks for always being my mid-day break destination! Only wish I lived closet to PA so we could stay the night at the Inn!

From diets.. to sweets.. yes, I definitely did a double take when I saw this post! I’m thinking of making this and using Biscoff spread in place of the Nutella. If I do, I will definitely blog about it. If you haven’t tried it — it’s so good it’s bad.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Michael – This looks delicious, but what I really want to know about it is how you are editing your photos – particularly the small groupings of two and fours (as in the icing preparation). Did you put this altogether using Mac Pages?

    Please share!

Those look amazing! I wonder how they would do as each “roll” in a mini muffin pan to serve as finger food. I must try to find out!

These look amazing! Mmmmmm! Can’t wait to try! Love the colorful print backdrop in your photos. Is it a tablecloth? Placemat? Favorite napkin or dish towel? Would love to know if it’s something currently available to find.

Love your blog and ideas! Such an inspiration!

    Blessings,
    Holly
