Living Room Spring Decorating Ideas
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyToday on the blog I’m giving you a peek around my living room in my Pittsburgh apartment and sharing simple spring decorating ideas! Some of my blogger friends are doing the same.
As much as I love spring, the season itself is not so lovable here in Pennsylvania. While sunny and warm days are pure magic after a long winter, most days are filled with gray skies, rain, and mud, with little green in sight. In hopes of inspiring Mother Nature (and you), I thought it’d be fun to share spring decorating ideas.
In fact, I’ve rounded up my HomeGoods Blogger friends and they are sharing decor inspiration, too. So once you’ve looked around here, be sure to visit them. They are linked up at the bottom of this post.
Spring Decorating Ideas for your Living Room:
Because I’m house hunting, I’m being much more conscious of my spending as of late. For the first time ever, I decided not to purchase a lot of new decor items, so changing things up for the season is going to be a bit more subtle. However, I couldn’t resist a few fun new touches.
As you know from my tips for spring flower arranging post, I found these awesome marble and glass hurricane vases at HomeGoods. They were definitely a HomeGoods #GoFinding surprise. I think they are designed for candles, but I’ve been using them for flowers. After all, it’s spring, and spring means flowers!
I also was super excited to get my hands on Melissa’s (a.k.a. The Faux Martha) new book, The Minimalist Kitchen (affiliate link). It was on my spring book wishlist, and every day I’ve been flipping through it.
Besides my new vases, book, and flowers, I added a little crate of white and cardboard eggs for an extra touch of spring.
Over in my living room not much has changed. I did get a big cozy knit pillow to brighten up the couch a bit. I also followed my own advice and cleaned the space, making it feel new and fresh.
Last week I shared a tutorial for this DIY Mounted Staghorn Fern. Yep, you can make one, and it’s actually quite easy. I found the wood tray at Homegoods! I love how the fern adds a little life and green above my TV.
Spring Decorating Ideas for your Coffee Table:
For a bit of quirkiness in my spring living room, I decided to have some fun on my coffee table. I spotted these chocolate-dipped peeps (affiliate link) earlier in the week and immediately thought: S’mores!
So I picked up a box of graham crackers and set up this Coffee Table Peep S’mores Snack Station. So cute, right?
Isn’t it the perfect set-up and snack for spring?
And with just these few simple touches and fresh flowers, my living room is ready for a new season. Bring on spring!

Home Goods is great for beautiful things, like the perfect mirror!
Michael, I love your decorating style and couldn’t help but notice you have some teal accents! My long narrow living room is painted a lovely teal color that I can’t get over! Rug and couch is tan. Would you be so kind as to offer some advise as to what accent colors I could use to make this room pop? I need new curtains and an accent chair and lots of pillows! Thank you so much! Love what you’ve done. It’s amazing!
Uber-stoked at the opportunity to win! Fingers crossed!
I adore Home Goods! I became an addict years ago when you first popped up in Tucson, AZ and still drool when I go through, living in Colorado! I could cheerfully move right in with you Michael….I do laundry and can cook if that helps! Lol!
I love your blog! I love the inspirations behind the decorating and recipes you share!
Thank you so much Cathi!

I love Home Goods. And, I love the aqua cabinet. I don’t know how I missed that before.
Love love love the peep s’mores!!! And your presentation is perfection! Thank you for the eye candy in all senses of the word! 😀
Michael: it looks great and love the peeps Idea. Thanks for keeping your ideas realistic for some of us … I love your ideas and I know you blogger make money doing this…just remember to count your $$ and Cents; and save money for retirement. My husband & I paid cash for everything thru the years (before Dave Ramsey) and now we are 63 & 65 and can afford to travel (in a small RV/VAN) but we still love to eat peanut butter sandwiches on the road. So many people get so caught up in acquiring possessions, and never pay for them. Then 40 years later, they are without funds. Great ideas, great recipes and find your happiness in being a kind person who loves people and loves to help others.
This is great advice Barbara! And yes, I certainly have been saving for retirement. Even though I’m blessed to travel so much now, I’m excited to do even more in the future.
