This past weekend I set up a two trees and got a good start on a third. I also began more detailed planning for my holiday decor. (I included some pictures in this post if you’re interested in a sneak peek.)

A few months ago, I mentioned to my mom that I wanted to decorate for Christmas this year using things I already had on hand. As much as I love shopping, a part of me was a bit tired of the influx of new “stuff”.

Well, so much for intentions. Because of my job and desire to share something unique with all of you (That large gold Santa did help either.), I succumbed to the allure of the new and different. Several exciting and beautiful items have now made their way into my home. Maybe one of these days I’ll be able to resist.

With that being said, I do realize that not everyone is a blogger or has the resources to style three new Christmas trees each year. And don’t feel like you have to do that. A big part of Christmas is tradition. I love my job, but there’s definitely a side of me that would prefer to set things up the way I always have, thus eliminating the stress of creating something new each year. (I do crank up the holiday tunes and enjoy the decorating process, despite being bit anxious about how things will turn out.)

I really enjoyed reading your 6 inexpensive Christmas decorating ideas but after reading this post, I need to go buy something new: an owl as tree topper. So cute!

Great ideas! I am one of those people that LOVES your creativity! I feel bad that you are stressed about coming up with the “NEW” tree every year…and I understand it too. My husband and I run a small business. I try to come up with one Christmas item that we can make from scraps in our woodshop. It isn’t easy, and I really stress myself out about it, but somehow it always seems to work out. So I get it, in a way! Whatever you do-I really enjoy it…and I respect the creativity you have! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
