Fall Home Tour 2014
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyWelcome back to my home, everyone! I’m so excited to invite you in for a fall look around. As some of you may remember, this past summer I did my first home tour on the blog. You were all so wonderfully kind and left the sweetest comments, so I’m thrilled to do this again.
This time I’m participating in the Finding Fall Home Tour. Laura of Finding Home gathered up 20 talented bloggers to be a part of this particular tour, and I’m so honored to be one of them. (Thank you so much, Laura, for putting this together.)
Also, a special shout out to all of the folks coming over from White Buffalo Styling Company. Isn’t Lindsay’s home stunning? I’m in love with her kitchen!
As I did in summer, I’m going to really let the pictures do the talking on this tour. I added a few links below some of the images to help answer some often-asked questions. Also, if you’re looking for paint colors, they are all listed here. I even picked up a new camera lens and tried to get some different angles for this tour. I hope you enjoy seeing my space from the various perspectives.
All right, on with the tour!
In the kitchen, I added a few touches of fall here and there. You’ll notice that I got rid of the TV that hung on the wall. I rarely used the TV, and it didn’t do much for the space. Some new art has taken its place. I’m also still loving the pegboard I recently installed.
Pops of autumn red made their way into the dining room. Some leaves, my painted gourds, and wine (of course) create a carefree, but styled centerpiece. My goal was to keep things simple, yet colorful with natural elements.
In the office, I did a bunch of organizing. My workstation had become a bit of a catchall. It’s so nice to have it functioning again. And, as you saw earlier this week, my shelves were put in color order. If you want to recreate the look, here are a few tips that I followed.
I carried the fall branches into the living room. They add such a great burst of color on my mantel. While I still need to tweak the wall decor in the space, I’m pleased with how my gallery wall turned out.
Heading upstairs (I promised I’d show you the upstairs on my next house tour.), you can see that my master bedroom is still a work in progress. (I’ll try to get it done for the Holiday Home Tour.) I did put up these DIY picture ledges in my hallway. It was super fun decorating them for the season.
I’m overjoyed that I finally have a functioning guest room. A few more details (including something for the walls) and this space will be complete!
And that my friends wraps up another IBC home tour. I sincerely hope you enjoyed your time and possibly picked up a few colorful ideas for your own place.
Now, as I mentioned above, this Fall Home tour consists of 20 amazing bloggers. To start at the beginning,of the tour, head on over to Finding Home. If you’re already on the tour, next up are Heather and Vanessa from At The Picket Fence.
My friends at BHG are also joining the party. You can subscriber to their 100 Day of Holiday newsletter here for endless holiday inspiration. Thank you again for visiting. Stop back anytime! Happy Fall!

Beautiful home! So happy and fresh…I have some pinning to do!
Your home is always one of my favorites to peek into! I love your style and creativity and love what you’ve done for fall! Such talent! Thanks for sharing!
Michael, you are so talented and you’ve created such a lovely, warm, welcoming home. The guest room – you had me at all that RED – with a fireplace? You will never get rid of your guests. They would have to drag me kicking and screaming from this room. It is so much fun to look at the pictures and remember you creating so many of the touches that make the space what it is. I remember the paint choices, hanging chair, white stools, pink dresser, terrariums, tiny little cacti sculptures, the little wooden trees, the fuzzy colored ball coasters and, oh my, those red gourds just stole my heart. I love your rugs, especially the one by the kitchen door. Very well done is an understatement of epic proportions. Your blog is the first thing I look for when I turn on my computer in the morning. Thank you so much for sharing.
Maralyn, I can’t thank you enough for all your wonderful words! You’ve truly made my day. I’m SO happy to here that IBC is one of your first stops when turning on your computer. Thank you SO much for that!

Love your take on “fall”……living in South Florida it’s difficult to get out of the summer mood but your ideas have the wheels in my brain thinking – hmmmmmm I can do “fall” Michael’s way ! Thanks for the great ideas !
That’s awesome! I’m glad I was able to share some inspiration. I had a tough time decorating for fall this year, but I think it turned out pretty well. Good luck getting your space fall-ready!

Michael – I am new to your blog and really enjoyed your home tour. I am color- and fabric-phobic, so I really admire your use of both in your home. This is truly inspirational! Thank you! ~ Sara Fieldson
Well thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comment! So happy to “meet” you. 🙂

I love the fall touches and the overall use of color in your home. There is such a feeling of continuity between the rooms while looking so perfectly curated in their own way. I’m still missing the acrylic table in the entryway, didn’t see it at all in the tour. Haha. Have you ever thought of doing a video tour?! I’d love that.
I know. I’m still trying to figure out the entryway and that acrylic table! After looking at the pictures, it may need to move back to that area. Decisions. Decisions.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments and for stopping by!

Your home is beautiful! It is so cheerful! I don’t know if I would ever be in a gloomy mood if I lived there!! 🙂
Wow! You really do have a beautiful home, Michael. It is pulled together so nicely with all those great splashes of color! Come visit me, if you get a chance!
Such a happy, energetic and welcoming home. I love the tour and I can’t say it enough…you are so fantastically talented.
That means the world to me Terri! Thank you so much!

I loved the different perspectives. Your home is an inviting blend of the old and the new. Great tour!
What is especially appealing throughout is how you’ve used pops of color to add energy and interest to each space.
Thank you Linda!

Michael – I am so glad you are part of the tour this year – your home is so amazing! I am not sure if I could pick a favorite – but if I had too, I would say it would be your stair hall gallery wall. Oh, who am I kidding – its your office, your dining room, your upstair hall – I love it all!
And those painted gourds – perfection!
Thanks so much for being part of the tour!
Have a great day!
Laura
Laura! Thank you so much for your wonderfully sweet comments. It was AMAZING seeing you this weekend. And, of course, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your tour!

Michael, what a beautiful, bright, happy home you have created! It is so fun to get a look at the whole instead of just a room – which is why I love home tours 🙂
