Welcome back to my home, everyone! I’m so excited to invite you in for a fall look around. As some of you may remember, this past summer I did my first home tour on the blog. You were all so wonderfully kind and left the sweetest comments, so I’m thrilled to do this again.
This time I’m participating in the Finding Fall Home Tour. Laura of Finding Home gathered up 20 talented bloggers to be a part of this particular tour, and I’m so honored to be one of them. (Thank you so much, Laura, for putting this together.)
Also, a special shout out to all of the folks coming over from White Buffalo Styling Company. Isn’t Lindsay’s home stunning? I’m in love with her kitchen!
As I did in summer, I’m going to really let the pictures do the talking on this tour. I added a few links below some of the images to help answer some often-asked questions. Also, if you’re looking for paint colors, they are all listed here. I even picked up a new camera lens and tried to get some different angles for this tour. I hope you enjoy seeing my space from the various perspectives.
All right, on with the tour!
In the kitchen, I added a few touches of fall here and there. You’ll notice that I got rid of the TV that hung on the wall. I rarely used the TV, and it didn’t do much for the space. Some new art has taken its place. I’m also still loving the pegboard I recently installed.
Pops of autumn red made their way into the dining room. Some leaves, my painted gourds, and wine (of course) create a carefree, but styled centerpiece. My goal was to keep things simple, yet colorful with natural elements.
In the office, I did a bunch of organizing. My workstation had become a bit of a catchall. It’s so nice to have it functioning again. And, as you saw earlier this week, my shelves were put in color order. If you want to recreate the look, here are a few tips that I followed.
I carried the fall branches into the living room. They add such a great burst of color on my mantel. While I still need to tweak the wall decor in the space, I’m pleased with how my gallery wall turned out.
Heading upstairs (I promised I’d show you the upstairs on my next house tour.), you can see that my master bedroom is still a work in progress. (I’ll try to get it done for the Holiday Home Tour.) I did put up these DIY picture ledges in my hallway. It was super fun decorating them for the season.
I’m overjoyed that I finally have a functioning guest room. A few more details (including something for the walls) and this space will be complete!
And that my friends wraps up another IBC home tour. I sincerely hope you enjoyed your time and possibly picked up a few colorful ideas for your own place.
Now, as I mentioned above, this Fall Home tour consists of 20 amazing bloggers. To start at the beginning,of the tour, head on over to Finding Home. If you’re already on the tour, next up are Heather and Vanessa from At The Picket Fence.
My friends at BHG are also joining the party. You can subscriber to their 100 Day of Holiday newsletter here for endless holiday inspiration. Thank you again for visiting. Stop back anytime! Happy Fall!
Check out the entire fall home tour below:
Michael, what a beautiful, bright, happy home you have created! It is so fun to get a look at the whole instead of just a room – which is why I love home tours 🙂
Michael – I am so glad you are part of the tour this year – your home is so amazing! I am not sure if I could pick a favorite – but if I had too, I would say it would be your stair hall gallery wall. Oh, who am I kidding – its your office, your dining room, your upstair hall – I love it all!
And those painted gourds – perfection!
Thanks so much for being part of the tour!
Have a great day!
Laura
Laura! Thank you so much for your wonderfully sweet comments. It was AMAZING seeing you this weekend. And, of course, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your tour!
xo Michael
What is especially appealing throughout is how you’ve used pops of color to add energy and interest to each space.
Thank you Linda!
xo Michael
I loved the different perspectives. Your home is an inviting blend of the old and the new. Great tour!
Such a happy, energetic and welcoming home. I love the tour and I can’t say it enough…you are so fantastically talented.
That means the world to me Terri! Thank you so much!
xo Michael
Wow! You really do have a beautiful home, Michael. It is pulled together so nicely with all those great splashes of color! Come visit me, if you get a chance!
Your home is beautiful! It is so cheerful! I don’t know if I would ever be in a gloomy mood if I lived there!! 🙂
I love the fall touches and the overall use of color in your home. There is such a feeling of continuity between the rooms while looking so perfectly curated in their own way. I’m still missing the acrylic table in the entryway, didn’t see it at all in the tour. Haha. Have you ever thought of doing a video tour?! I’d love that.
I know. I’m still trying to figure out the entryway and that acrylic table! After looking at the pictures, it may need to move back to that area. Decisions. Decisions.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments and for stopping by!
xo Michael
Michael – I am new to your blog and really enjoyed your home tour. I am color- and fabric-phobic, so I really admire your use of both in your home. This is truly inspirational! Thank you! ~ Sara Fieldson
Well thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comment! So happy to “meet” you. 🙂
xo Michael
Love your take on “fall”……living in South Florida it’s difficult to get out of the summer mood but your ideas have the wheels in my brain thinking – hmmmmmm I can do “fall” Michael’s way ! Thanks for the great ideas !
That’s awesome! I’m glad I was able to share some inspiration. I had a tough time decorating for fall this year, but I think it turned out pretty well. Good luck getting your space fall-ready!
xo Michael
Love, love, love, your home is so pretty! The Fall touches throughout are warm and inviting, great job!!
What a beautiful home! Happy to see the red gourds make another appearance…..love them so much! Happy fall to you!
I swear I could move right into your home. There is not one single thing I don’t like about it. It’s so fresh, fun and vibrant without being over the top. I wish I had half of your talent for decorating. Thanks for sharing.
You are so sweet Karen! Thank you! And I’m sure you have a plenty of decorating talent!
xo Michael
Your house is so amazingly colourful and fun! I love every bit of it! XO, Sarah
Your home makes me Happy 🙂 You are such an inspiration. Happy Fall!
I’ve been looking forward to your fall tour all week! I love it! So subtle–yet festive–while keeping in tune with your regular decor! Good work!!
Michael – your home is so fresh and colorful, I love it! You provide tons of inspiration. It’s so fun to follow your blog!
Michael, you are so talented and you’ve created such a lovely, warm, welcoming home. The guest room – you had me at all that RED – with a fireplace? You will never get rid of your guests. They would have to drag me kicking and screaming from this room. It is so much fun to look at the pictures and remember you creating so many of the touches that make the space what it is. I remember the paint choices, hanging chair, white stools, pink dresser, terrariums, tiny little cacti sculptures, the little wooden trees, the fuzzy colored ball coasters and, oh my, those red gourds just stole my heart. I love your rugs, especially the one by the kitchen door. Very well done is an understatement of epic proportions. Your blog is the first thing I look for when I turn on my computer in the morning. Thank you so much for sharing.
Maralyn, I can’t thank you enough for all your wonderful words! You’ve truly made my day. I’m SO happy to here that IBC is one of your first stops when turning on your computer. Thank you SO much for that!
xo Michael
Your home is always one of my favorites to peek into! I love your style and creativity and love what you’ve done for fall! Such talent! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful home! So happy and fresh…I have some pinning to do!
What a beautiful space! I love how grouping colors together gives a sense of order and calm to the space, especially against neutral paint. I’m always so afraid of color and tend to go for neutrals all the time. I love how you bring color into a room– it’s very inspiring to me!
Thank you for the fabulous tour! Your home is so alive, vibrant and inviting … I love the vibrant pops of color! It’s all so welcoming and, with the added pops of Fall, is certain to make your guests want to stay a long, LONG time!
Michael your home is absolutely AMAZING!! Your fall touches are just so perfect and I loved the tour. So honored to be following you today in the series! 🙂
one word…and it’s not even a word….GAH! Everything you touch is gold and I want to live in your brain for one day…may I? xo
ps. Really? you make me do math to leave a message…now that’s cruel…haha…;)
Love, love, love your style!
Your home is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I love your home. So cool, colorful & cute.
So glad to see you on the tour this year Michael! Your home is fabulous!! I loved every bit of it, your style is amazing!
Love, Love, Love your home! Stunning!
You’re home is beautiful. I will admit I lean to the ultramodern “loft” look. So while not all of it is my personal taste, the use of colors and accents is some of the best I’ve ever see. LOVE the shades of gray as a base, especially in the dining room and office. Also, the geometric rug in the living room is stunning. I was able to purchase a smaller version of the same one. It’s beautiful and I LOVE that store. Great job and thank you for taking the time to share this!
I am in love with the geometric rug in the living room. Where can i purchase that? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!
I have been following home blogs for years now, and your home by far is my ABSOLUTE favorite of all. I just cannot get enough of it!! I love keeping up on your Instagram feed as well. Thanks for sharing your home and inspirations!
Michael, you’re home as usual looks wonderful! I love the iron chandy in your dining room. Can you tell me where you bought that? Thank you and again compliments for your great sense of design and use of color…it’s definetly not easy to pull that off but you do an amazing job! Silvana
Silvana – thank you! Yes, the chandelier is from Pottery Barn. It’s the Bellora and I believe they still sell it.
xo Michael
Michael, you have inspired me and reinvigorated my inner decorator. Your home is really of reflection of your spirit, and yours is whimsical, colorful and thoughtful! Thank you for sharing!
Michael, I just love your home. So stunning! Your fall home tour is gorgeous.
and I especially like your cat 🙂
Michael, Your home is glorious? Ditto to everything that everyone else has posted here. I will return often to this tour for inspiration. Right now, I’m fascinated by the window treatment in your guest room. Is this a Michael Original or (hopefully) something even I might be able to fashion? I love it!
xo
Thanks Kay!
The window treatments in the guest room are from Urban Outfitters. I talked about them on the blog if you want some more info. I really love them.

First time to your blog!!! Absolutely love your fall tour – your home is gorgeous and your use of color is insanely beautiful! Need to ask you a question — where did you purchase those gold and cream ottomans in the living room?? I have to have them. And I love your whimsical ‘hello’ pillow and ‘love one another’ pillow — can you share your source??
Thanks so much!
Ann
Thank you so much Ann!
Sure, I’m happy to help. The ottomans were from Target. (I don’t believe they sell them anymore.) They are more yellow and white.
The Hello pillow is from The Land of Nod. And the Love One Another pillow is from Latter Day Home.
Hope that helps!
xo Michael
Beautiful house tour! Was wondering where you got your white desk?
One of my favorite things about your style, is your fearless approach to your home with everything you use. LOVE LOVE LOVE and want to come hang out and be besties. Is that okay? #Imastalker
Omg. Right back at you. I’m obsessed with your home too. You can hang out here anytime as long as I can come to your house too! Deal?
xo Michael
Just beautiful! Wondering where the yellow cart/table with castors you used to have your printer on went to? I love those carts so I am curious…. 🙂
If I would have to say one word: PERFECTION. Your house is to die for…love everything about it. Thanks for sharing with us!
I love your coffee table. Where is it from? Such a fresh, happy home. I’d never want to leave!!
Love your home and the touches of fall! The patterns and colors are perfect. That dining room is fabulous and those gourds are amazing! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Love your home tour and your sweet cat sleeping on the chair! Every detail….every room is so fresh and fun and so you!

Michael, it was so great to see you in NY and I just love, love your home! This tour is beautiful and really showcases your home so well. Love the white walls and all those pops of color you do so well. Masterful job!
It was so good to see you too Rhoda! Thank you so much. 🙂

I just adore your warm, colorful living room. (But my favorite photo is the sleeping kitty.)
Isn’t he sweet? Thanks Amy!
xo Michael
what a quirky, colorful home tour! any chance you remember where you purchased the gold pineapple bookends?
Megan – they are a vintage find from a thrift store. That’s all the info I have. Try eBay?
xo Michael
I must be hiding under a rock. I can’t believe I’ve never been here before. Hi, Michael! I’m Julie from redheadcandecorate.com. I just found you through Vanessa’s (ATPF) home tour post. You are so very talented…and your home is amazing. I love your choice in lighting especially! Oh, and your kitty looks like my, Sylvia! Have a wonderful night…XO
Hi Michael,
Your photographs are stunners, not only for their clarity also from how you choose angles and placement. I think you are a food stylist. I notice two broadleaf (maybe one and you moved it for the photo) plants. What plant is this? Very handsome. Just keep up with what you are doing because it always leads you to another interesting place or project.
-Sandy
Thank you so much Sandy!
The plant is a fiddle leaf fig. And I love them, so I have three! Haha. 🙂
xo Michael
Your home is charming and adorable. Loved your Fall touches. 🙂
Do I have to pick a favorite? No? Good, because I really can’t. What I love about your house is it just says “happy” without screaming it. Know what I mean? Sometimes it can be hard to do a lot of color without it looking cartoonish or trite. I love how you balance color with chic. Hats off to you!
GORGEOUS home!! Can you tell me more about the triangle pattern rug in your living room?? I’m coveting it 🙂
Thanks so much Beth! Yes, that rug was from CB2.com
xo Michael
I am so in love! I know you’re getting a million questions, but do you mind telling me where you found that geometric rug?? It’s amazing and I’m looking for a fun rug for my girls’ room!
So much awesomeness in this post I can’t even tell you my favorite!!!! HELLO Rockstar!!! 😉 I want to come stay over and hang out in this place but only if you don’t crop me out of any pics 😉 hehe
PLEASE tell me where to buy the pyramid rug featured in the living room photos!!! It is exactly what I have been searching for!!
Thanks!
I bought my from CB2.com – however, last I heard, it’s no longer for sale.
Hope that helps.
xo Michael
One of my most favorite homes in all of blog-land. Just beautiful Michael, every last detail. You can tell you put a lot of heart and soul into your home, and of course, I can’t get enough of the gorgeous bursts of color!
Jen – thank you so much. What a wonderful sweet compliment. Thanks!
xo Michael

XO Sahra
Que Sera Sahra
Like Mandi, I too am lusting after that calendar! Unfortunately, no matter how much I enlarge the photo I can’t see the manufacturer’s fine print. Thanks for the fabulous tour!
It’s the Stendig Calendar: http://www.stendigcalendar.com/Stendig_Calendar/Welcome.html They sell out quickly, so I recommend ordering ASAP if you want one. 🙂
xo Michael

Hi,
Can you share the source for those amazing metallic set of 3 dice on your mantel?
Thanks
They are candleholders (not dice). They are from the Nate Berkus collection at Target.
xo Michael

Your home is so beautiful. I love love love the mirror above the mantel. Do you mind sharing where you got it from? Thank you for sharing your home and giving me some inspiration.
Thanks Jennifer. It’s from the Jonathan Alder collection at JCPenney. Not sure if they still sell it.
xo michael
Thank you so much Michael! I’ll check it out just in case they do! 🙂 happy designing! -Jennifer
Thank you for the inspiration you give so freely. I am dealing with surrounding blah in my home; feeling kind of “stuck with”. The color and light you pull together throughout is magical. I begin today by stacking a few of the pumpkins I harvested from my garden yesterday and I’ll go from there to bring fall into my space. It’s such a renewal time. The ideas that are coming to me after touring your home this morning have to be explored. Thanks for the inspiration and charm. PS: Your cat looks so content and happy.
Linda,
What a wonderful compliment! The goal is to inspire and I’m glad you left with some inspiration. Thank you! Thank you!
xo Michael
