Flower Napkin Rings You Can Make:

I have been so excited to share this DIY dried flower napkin ring tutorial with you. I made these several weeks ago but wanted to share my outdoor fall tablescape first. That post went live a few days ago, so now (as promised) I’m back to teach you how to make these dried flower napkin rings.

I got this idea from a magazine a few years ago. (I want to say it was BHG, but I’m not quite sure.) With a bunch of flowers blooming in my yard, I knew that this project would be an easy and beautiful way to add color and life to my fall tablescape. I think it worked!

Why I Love this Project:

I love this craft idea for a few reasons.

  1. It’s Simple. You only need three things (flowers, wire, and glue). Plus you can whip up a set of six napkin rings in under 30 minutes.
  2. It adds a handmade touch. When you’re styling something, I think a handmade touch makes all the difference.
  3. It provides a pop of color. I wanted to add a sense of joy and life to my fall table; color was one of the ways I planned to do that. As you can see, these napkin rings really pop!

Ready to give these dried flower napkin rings a try? Great! Now I’m going to walk you through the supplies you’ll need and the steps you should follow.

Supplies Needed:

As I mentioned above, you only need a few things to assemble this wreath. I’ve gone ahead and linked everything I could for you below.

Dried Flowers:

I was lucky enough to be able to harvest the flowers I needed for this project from my own backyard. I cut off the blooms about 3 weeks before I used them and just put them in a bowl to dry. This worked well for me.

I’ve used the following flowers on my napkin rings:

That’s it!

Now, I realize that everyone can’t go to their backyard and cut these blooms, so I’ve link some options for you above. Feel free to get creative with other dried flowers you love. I’ve added a few additional options below:

Vine Covered Wire:

Next, you’ll need a ring to hold your napkin and to glue your flowers to. I found this vine covered wire to be the most natural-looking option. Once twisted together to form a ring, it almost looks like a real branch. Love that! (Shop for the wire HERE.)

Hot Glue:

Hot glue works great for this project because it dries in just a few seconds and provides a secure hold.

Now that you have what you need to craft these flower napkin rings, let’s get to it!

Instructions:

I’ll walk you through the process here. I’ve also provided a printable how-to instruction card at the end of this post.

  1. Begin by cutting a piece of wire about 12-14 inches long.
  2. Start creating a circle with the wire. You’ll want the diameter of the circle to be roughly two inches. (This doesn’t need to be perfect and you can adjust it to suit your napkins.)

  1. With the circle formed, continue wrapping the wire around the circle; twist in and out to create an organic wrapped look. (Reference the photo below.)

  1. Secure the end of the wire between two pieces of wire on the ring. (You can also use hot glue to secure the end of the wire.)
  2. Use hot glue to attach your dried flowers to the top of the ring. You can add as many or as few as you’d like.

  1. Allow the glue to set and then your napkin ring is complete.
  2. Repeat with more wire, glue, and flowers to create as many napkin rings as needed.

Voila!

Let’s set the table.

Time to Set the Table:

And that’s it, my friend! Your DIY dried flower napkin rings are complete and ready to dress up your table.

You can use these like you use any other napkin ring. For this table, I opted to roll up my napkins to fit perfectly inside the ring. Have fun with the napkins and rings and try different ways of using them to see what you like best. Every table setting is different.

If you give this project a try, I would LOVE to see the results. Share them on Instagram and tag me at @inspiredbycharm. I can’t wait to see what you create.

Happy Crafting!
