“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” – Buddy the Elf

Welcome back to the 12 Days of Christmas here on IBC! I hope you’re enjoying the series this year. I’m having a wonderful time sharing the joys of this holiday season with you.

Tuesday Tunes / 18 - Folksy Christmas

For Day 4, I have more holiday tunes to keep your spirits bright. During the past couple weeks, I’ve been sharing some of my favorite holiday songs as part of my Tuesday Tunes series. We’ve covered Classic Christmas and Country Christmas. Today, it’s my favorite Folksy Christmas tunes.

If you’ve been following along with my music selections over the past year, you know that while I love a variety of sounds, there’s something about the folksy singer-songwriter style that will always have my heart. Think artists like Brandi Carlile, Mumford and Sons, and The Lumineers. With this style of music being near and dear to me, naturally I had to put together a playlist of holiday Tuesday Tunes.

Tuesday Tunes / 18 - Folksy Christmas

Although it’s not necessarily a Christmas song, one of my favorite tracks on this list is “Winter Song” by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. I love a song that can somehow make you feel both happy and sad at the same time. Other favorites include “River” by Sarah McLachlan, “Christmas Time is Here” by Shawn Colvin, and anything by She & Him.

I hope this playlist allows you to feel the spirit of the season as you reflect on the year.

You can use the playlist above to listen to these festive tunes or play them directly on Spotify by clicking here.

I have two more holiday playlists to share this season. You can get a sneak listen to them (and lots of other music) by subscribing to my Spotify profile here.

You might want to check out The Lower Lights. They have 2 Christmas albums, I prefer the first over the second but they’re both good.
