Start by gathering a small bunch of wheat stalks, around 5 to 7 for each bundle. I prefer using an odd number for a more balanced look, but feel free to adjust the size to your liking.
Hold the bunch together near the top, just below the wheat heads. Take your embroidery floss and wrap it around the stalks once, tying a secure knot to hold everything in place.
Now, begin wrapping the floss tightly around the stalks, covering about 2 inches. Rather than moving your hand around the wheat, I found it easier to hold the floss steady and spin the wheat stalks themselves to create the wrap.
Once you've covered the desired area, tie another knot to secure the end of the floss, and trim any excess. Repeat for as many bundles as you'd like!
