beer
amber or lager

shredded cheddar cheese

bacon
cooked and chopped

heavy whipping cream

Instructions
To a greased 3-qt slow cooker, add the cream cheese, sour cream, dijon, garlic powder, beer, cheese, and about 1/4 cup of the bacon.
Stirring occasionally, cook covered on slow, for 3-4 hours or until the mixture is smooth and heated through.
About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream.
When ready to serve, top with the onion and remaining bacon. Serve with pretzel bites or cubed bread.
