The flavors of fresh basil, ripe blackberries, and refreshing lemon blend together beautifully in this Blackberry Basil Sangria. It's the perfect spring / summer cocktail recipe!

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) pinot grigio - or dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup white rum
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves - plus more to garnish
  • 1 lemon - thinly sliced
  • 1 cup club soda - optional*

  • In a large pitcher, pour in the pinot grigio and rum.
  •  Add the blackberries, basil, and lemon slices and stir gently to combine.
  • Refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, stir in the club soda. Serve in a glass over ice.

*Although I love the subtle fizz, this sangria is just as good without the club soda. Also, after sitting in the refrigerator, your basil may not look fresh and green. Before serving, feel free to remove it and toss in a few new leaves for color.
