Hey there, friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I was busy making some changes around the house this weekend, so I thought I’d catch you up on the progress and share a few hints of what’s to come.

Weekend Wanderlust: No.36 | Inspired by Charm

Paint – This weekend I painted my dining room. If you are following me on Instagram, this won’t come as a surprise. But yes, the yellowish orange has been replaced with a new and beautiful gray. I’m actually working on a little project with Target and Nate Berkus. Yes, THE Nate Berkus. (I got to talk to him on the phone for almost 10 minutes! I’m still pinching myself.) Anyway, I’ll be sharing more details about the revamped space next week.

Peek – In the meantime, I thought I would give you a sneak peek at some of the new products from the Nate Berkus collection that are going to be making their way into my dining room. I can’t wait to show you everything.

Hang – I was also busy doing some other handy things this weekend. I finally hung barn doors over the little prop closet in my office. They are pretty amazing! But, of course, I’m going to make you wait for the full reveal.

Decorate – In other styling news, I finally got a new coffee table. I’ve had my eye on this one from Wayfair for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger. It’s perfect! I love the detail on the wood top, and the tones in the wood match my hardwood floors perfectly. Plus, the metal base works nicely with my curtain rods. It’s a win all around!

Celebrate – I’m a little behind with this, but last week we celebrated my mom’s birthday! I was in charge of the cake. I ended up making this 14 Layer Cake I found via Bakerella. It was delicious! Happy Birthday, Mom!

Read – Recently, I’ve been reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. It’s certainly providing a lot of encouragement, guidance, and ideas for tackling my 52 Habits. I highly recommend it.

Watch – And I will leave you with this. Apparently it’s a commercial for a cell phone company in England. It’s pretty much one of my all-time favorite commercials. Enjoy!

Have a great week, everyone!

You are such a tease. I’m sad to see your yellow dining room go away. It was such a happy place. I’m sure the gray will be beautiful, but I still love the yellow. :o) I really like the peek at the new Nate items for Target, can’t wait to see them all. And the video was a great way to start a Monday. :o)

As I mentioned on IG, I just love your living room. All the elements come together to create a colorful, modern space, but one that looks comfortable and livable. I’m excited to read more about your dining room updates … have been wondering what you and Nate had going on! What wonderful opportunities have come your way via your IBC success.

Well shut the front door!!! Nate Berkus!! I’m so excited to see what project comes from the two of you! I painted my living room that grey over Thanksgiving (ok I was a wee bit scared) but it turned out amazing!! It really makes my colors pop! I’m loving your barn doors, your 14 layer cake, your arrow pillow, and that living room rug!! That rug is my favorite!! So happy to see what’s next!

Busy Bee you are! Loved this post from the tulips to the video! 5 stars on the video selection-I had to share it with a link back to your website. So fun! Reminded me of my free spirited daughters!

I’m so jealous right now. Love Nate and love Target. Congrats on your partnership with them. Love the barn sliding doors and can’t wait to see the reveal. I love The Four Agreement, it’s one of my favorite books. The birthday cake for your mom is impressive and the video is adorable. I think that little girl could take out Jimmy Fallon and Paul Rudd in a lip synch contest any day. Have a great week!

I **LOVE** the grey in the dining room!!! Love, love love it!!! 🙂

That rug is pretty cool and the table is as well. Nice job with all the color and happy birthday to your mom.

Thank you for sharing all your inspiring ideas! I have never been a fan of grey walls but I think I may have to change my mind after seeing what you have done with your new space. I love the barn doors! And your mom is definitely one lucky lady to have such a wonderful creative son.

  • Elle at

You know I’m a fan. Keep creating and having fun! (And enjoy your interactions with Nate Berkus!)

Nate Berkus?! Can’t wait to see the dining room. Love the coffee table (and the rug underneath!) Happy {belated} birthday to your mom – that cake looks DELICIOUS!

I am in love with that commercial! (That was one of my favorite songs back in the day.) We lived in England for a few years while my husband was in the Air Force. We lived in a neighborhood just like that and my daughter used to ride her bike around the cul-de-sac.

  • Jenna at

Absolutely beautiful! Love your style. Where did you get the rug for the family room? I’ve been searching for something like that for a while with no luck.

      It’s from CB2.com
