It was a busy weekend around here. I’ve clearly managed to overfill my plate for the month of October.
While I’m feeling the pressure, I think it’s important every once in awhile to push yourself a little harder.Even though I still have a million and one things to do, I’m amazed at how much I’ve already accomplished this month.
Paint – I’ve started painting the office (check out the colors here). And, to be honest, it’s been dreadful. I had to paint the ceiling, and that is probably one of my least favorite jobs. Especially when your ceilings are nine feet high. Paint splatters and drips everywhere. – I literally have specks of paint on my contact lenses. For a brief moment, I considered hiring someone to come and do it, but I decided to push onward and get it done myself. I’m hoping to have most of it completed by Sunday…
Relax – … even-though, I’d much rather join these two on the couch.
Decorate – Speaking of painting and decorating, I’m really into incorporating natural / weathered wood into my spaces lately. While I’m normally drawn to colorful or painted things, there is nothing like natural wood to add warmth and character. I’m talking more about this and sharing a few of my favorite wood accessories over on BHG’s Style Spotters blog. You can check that out here.
Listen – Music is a must while I’m painting. I’m still loving The National Parks, and Keith Urban’s new album is wonderful. I’ve also been listening to Gregory Alan Isakov. His music is very coffee house / folksy. I recommend checking out this song to see if you like him. I suppose it’s a little more well known.
Cook – I did spend a little time in the kitchen whipping up this amazing pasta dish for BHG’s Delish Dish Blog. I love a hardy pasta meal on a cool fall day. This comes together so quickly and it’s delicious! A must try.
Remember – I posted my first #tbt (Throw Back Thursday) on Instagram this week. My uncle has been posting old family photos on Facebook, and I thought this one was a gem. I’m the baby. I assume 2-3ish. I’m just in love with this photo.
