I’m channeling Posie Gets Cozy in today’s post. I know I’ve said this a million times, but I’m loving her photographs lately. I want to be a fly on the wall in her house to see how she does it. I wish she’d give a tutorial, but I’m afraid that’s not her style.  I think I’m getting there, but my pictures are nowhere close. I think I see a new camera lens in my future. This one.

My brain is feeling a little squished and broken this week. It’s just been madness around here. Things are coming in from every angle. Ever have on of those weeks? Seriously, I’ve had way to much coffee and not nearly enough sleep.

In other news, I ordered myself this drafting stool. I’ve been without one for a couple months as both of my stools are currently on loan to my Mom for her new kitchen island. (We are on the hunt for some unique bar stools for her) In some ways it pained me to order this particular one because, for lack of a better word, it’s kind of ugly. But, as I spend more time on the computer these days, I need something comfortable. Comfort one, Fashion zero.

This week was also supposed to be ‘You Decide‘ week. Remember? Obviously that isn’t happening. Sorry about that. It will still happen as your suggestions were amazing. It just needs rescheduled. I hope you’ll forgive me.

As you can see, I forced myself to go outside and snap some photos of my flowers. After realizing that I barely took any last year, I made a mental note to take time to smell the flowers this year. Today, I did just that. I’m so glad I did. For a brief moment my brain felt a little less squished.

What’s new with you all? How’s life? What’s shakin’?

So much light! That is what I noticed with your pics. I have a bit of a darker front of the house and all those light colors and light colors combined with contrasting darker ones were very inspiring. Thanks!

Your photos are beautiful! I recently did a “smell the flowers” post but my pictures were so amateur in comparison! lol. I just love to read your posts…so refreshing and REAL. Thanks Micheal!

The photos are quite lovely… you always take the most beautiful pictures! A day to stop and “smell the roses” is nice, and much needed when your life gets too busy! I enjoy your blog very much… it inspires me every time I click and read! Thanks Michael!

Oh gosh Michael, I so share your pain on the chair. I’ve had to scoot my gorgeous windsors out and I sat in this amazing but incredibly ugly leather look office high back chair just yesterday. I really should go pick it up… it would be a dream to work in. My back just talks too much when I use random whatevers instead.

Care for an ugly chair contest? I’m pretty sure I’d win. 🙂

Your photos are lovely! I have a 40mm micro lens and it takes some getting use to, but once you get a handle on it, amazing.

This is just what I wanted, Michael– a peek into your garden. I LOVE the little mouse succulent planter. So stinking cute!

Your flowers have grown so much! I love the little white ones and although I have never been partial to coleus I love yours with the scalloped leaves!
Sorry you’ve been feeling “squished”….price of fame and success I guess. I’m retired and no one could pay me enough to rejoin the rat race! LOL!
At least you’re doing what you love which unfortunately not many do…thus the “rat race”.
Where did you get that mouse statue…TOO CUTE! I love him!
You have such impeccable taste…I hope it rubs off on me! Take care of yourself so “squished” doesn’t become “smashed”. (not alcoholic but like bug “smashed”.) Although, a little alcohol wouldn’t be a bad thing.LOL!
