Pumpkin Krispies

Yes, you read that right. There’s another giveaway! I told you this was going to be a fun week. Before we get into that, let’s talk cookies.

Again, I’m not sure if this is technically a cookie, but I think its cuteness will make up for any question about its classification. After making these, I discovered several cuter versions online, but I’m still pretty pleased with mine.

Anyway, today I’m sharing my recipe for Pumpkin Krispies. If you’ve ever made Rice Krispies Treats, these are similar and just as easy. The stems are chocolate twizzlers. If you haven’t tried them yet, they are amazing!

Here’s what you’ll need:

3 tablespoons melted butter
6 cups rice krispies cereal

10 ounces miniature marshmallows

Chocolate twizzlers, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Orange food coloring (or red and yellow food coloring)

Let’s get baking:

Melt butter in large microwave safe bowl.

Add marshmallows and heat again in microwave until soft and fluffy. Stir the mixture.

Put in a few drops of food coloring to achieve desired color.

Stir in cereal and mix well.

Using a lightly greased scoop, shape into small 2 inch sized balls. I tried using my hands for this process, but the scoop works much better. Once the balls sit for a moment you can roll them with your hands for a smoother shape.

Place on a surface covered with waxed or parchment paper and put twizzler piece on the top for a stem.

All right, now it’s giveaway time!

I am a huge fan of scented candles. I sell a line in my Gift Shoppe, so I haven’t actually bought a candle in years. I was recently approached by the lovely folks at Goose Creek Candle Co.and asked to test their scented candles and give some away. No problem!

They sent me three beautiful jar candles in their most popular scents. I love them! I have been burning the butter cookie scented candle in the shop all week. Since I had to bake my cookies in advance of my open house, I no longer had that amazing fresh-baked-cookie smell filling the air. Now, thanks to my butter cookie scented candle, it constantly smells delicious again!

Goose Creek Candle Co. would like to give away one of their 16 oz. American Heirloom Jar Candles to two lucky readers. Don’t you love when two people get to win!?
