Hello! Hello! Per usual the holiday season did me in so I’ve stepped away from basically everything for the past couple of weeks and it’s been THE BEST. So much so that I plan to keep things slow and quiet through January.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to tackle 2023 and I’ve decided to make it one big experiment. Work has always been the top priority for me so I’m moving that way down the list . Whatever fuels and fills me up is moving right to the top: my art practice, travel, getting outside, meeting people, learning, prioritizing health .. just to name a few.

Social media is moving down the list too. As much as I love all of you, I’m really exhausted by social media. It has negatively affected my mental health so I want to experiment with less of it. A lot less. I don’t know what that looks like yet, but I’m determined to see if my business and life can survive without it.

What have I been doing? Not much. I packed away Christmas. I’ve done some thrifting / antiquing. I’ve thought about getting organized. (Lol. 🤪)I’ve taken four different online art courses and I’ve been painting every day. In fact I’m doing a daily painting challenge. I’ve shared a few of my favorite here and you can see more at @michaelwurmjr.

I don’t host Christmas so the base of my trees are never full of presents to be unwrapped. And, since I don’t really like the look of nothing under my tree, I fill up that empty space with vintage picnic baskets, wood trays, vintage lunch boxes, vintage scotch tape tin, spools or ribbon, etc. I always have so much fun deciding what goes under the tree. They are all gifts to me! #IBCholiday
