New Dining Room Chairs

That was quick! Last week I showed you my new dining room table and told you that I ordered some chairs. On Monday they were here! Woot Woot!

First let me say, I freakin’ love them.

As I mentioned, deciding on a chair was a long, mentally exhausting battle. Those of you who have struggled with picking out an important piece of furniture know exactly what I mean. It was love at first sight when I saw these chairs on I was actually hoping to get them in white, not black. However, I found that “white” really meant off-white or cream. I knew I didn’t want cream with my white molding.

I did some more searching to see if I could find a picture of a wood table like mine with black chairs. Oddly enough, I found inspiration on the site where I got my table. It was actually one of the sample pictures of my table that I had failed to notice previously.

After seeing this image, I worked up a little courage and purchased four of these chairs. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.

Thankfully, all four chairs arrived in perfect condition. They are super sturdy, extremely well made, and look pretty rockin’ with my table. Don’t you think? (Yes, I realize that my shelves are screaming for a little holiday makeover – coming soon!)

As for the white chairs, they work just fine for right now. I’m hoping to find two really interesting upholstered head chairs – maybe even something vintage. Who knows?

What do you think of my new chairs? What purchases have you been struggling with lately?

Wow, Michael, I love the chairs. I did not realize that your store was in your B&B. Very nice.

    Love them!

What about painting the white chairs a bright color while you wait to find your upholstered pieces? Maybe a shad of your wall color? Or a pretty green…I like the tool box, too, and am getting hubby to build me a box like that for my T-day decor.

Since my table is square, it’s hard to buy anything that really works.

I need to find a throw rug for our family room in the new house. Where did you get your chevron rug? I love it, especially the brown!

Where are your curtains from? Any close ups of those? Love the chairs!

The contemporary dining furniture is awesome in all the snaps. The wall hanging is completely suitable with the wall paint and the furnitures. There is no decorative fault to point on.

These look really great! They are super unique, and also classic. Perfect for your inn. Loving the new dining room look.

The chairs are perfect! I’m so in love with this entire room–I don’t think I’d ever want to leave when the meal was over!

I think these look great! They totally go with the rest of the room and look super comfy! I feel your pain on being worried about a “big” purchase.” I tend to “hem and haw” (haha) a lot before taking a plunge on buying something new, especially when it’s online and I can’t see it first. Great choice though!

I love them, Michael. I can’t wait to see what you end up with for the end chairs! We haven’t made any big purchases lately…We’ve been too busy painting and unpacking since moving in this past August. Maybe next year we’ll look at buying furniture…and I’ll be coming to your blog for ideas!

Great choice of chairs, Michael. That modern take of a captain’s chair makes your room so finished — have I told you lately I love your style??

I’m pretty well set for furniture but if I see a rocking recliner that fits, I’ll probably cave in and get it.

The chairs look awesome w/ that rug! I never would have thought to put them together but it looks great!

Oh I love those chairs. I think they have that amazing blend of classic, vintage and modern, and I’m not sure how that’s even possible. BUT … are they comfortable? I worry that that top bit could really dig into your back. Please come back with a comfort report!

You should check out the Ethan Allen Face Book page. They posted a pic of a dining room today that is exactly what you are looking for! (they even put buffalo plaid on the chairs for you)

Love those black chairs with your table! Great job:)

I love the juxtaposition of traditional table and modern chairs! I have a new-to-me antique trestle table (one of those great English pub tables with the urn-shaped legs for the trestle) and I’m considering a similar pairing.

Brilliant, this is very inspiring, so sad no money this year for any purchases. Christmas will be rough, first time even no presents.

I absolutely love your table, but the chairs are to low and the backs are to low. Nice chairs, but they don’t look good with that table.
