My Completed Gallery Wall
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyYou may remember that over a year ago I started a gallery wall in my downstairs hallway. Well, just before Christmas, I finally managed to finish it.
I really wish I could explain why it took me so long to complete it, but honestly I have no excuse. It’s quite possible that this is the project I’ve procrastinated the most on. But at this point, that’s neither here nor there.
Given the fact that it’s taken me so LONG, I don’t have a list of sources for the prints. I’ve collected some from various trips, Etsy, and Society6. If you see something you are DYING to know the source for, please let me know in the comments below and I’ll do my best to track it down for you.
All the frames are from various places as well. Most came from Target, Walmart, or Ikea. However, a few were thrifted or custom. The custom ones were ordered from Frames By Mail. I also bought a few custom mats here.
My favorite frame is this ornate one from Goodwill. It was gold to start, but a quick coat of white paint gave it a whole new life. I may incorporate a few more frames like this one if I happen upon them.
I also found a framed chalkboard (to the left of the door) and a chunky wood branch chalkboard pencil. It’s pretty sweet. This allows me to personalize my wall for the season or a special event.
I was actually able to complete this wall thanks to a few pictures I took on my trip to Portland. As much as I love being able to purchase prints, I really like to include some of my own work and photographs.
I also tucked in a few favorite pictures of family and friends.
I am super happy that the gallery wall is finally presentable. I’ll probably swap out a few frames and pictures over time, but for now I’m going to enjoy it as is .
What do you think of gallery walls? Do you have any in your home?
Hi, just wondered what paint colour your walls are? Am looking for something similar, between pale pink and cream/biscuit that looks different in different lights? Thanks!
Hi Beth,

Hi Michael!
One of my customers just told me that she saw my work on your blog (I painted the ‘Otterly Romantic’ otters holding hands piece) and I am so excited to see it featured here! Thank you so much for supporting so many artists and for spreading the otter love to your readers. What a wonderful surprise!

I absolutely love gallery walls. I have multiple ones in my house. Hmmm, I have a bit of an addiction now that I think about it. This post of mine shows one I did last year and it is my favourite I think. http://www.ginghamcherry.blogspot.com/2013/04/busy-doin-but-not-bloggin.html

Just started looking at your site and from the 3 posts I’ve read, I LOVE your style! 🙂 Great job on your gallery wall. I am obsessed with your chalkboard idea to customize through the holidays/seasons! Your photography on your posts is really outstanding (what drew me to read more!) Are you self taught? <3

This turned out beautifully! It’s hard to find a gallery wall I like…too much going on or too busy and colorful. This was perfect. The all white frames keep it calm and the prints mixed with your pictures and friends and family is just perfect! Great job! I am going back for a second look!
Awww! Thanks so much Janette. Yes, I agree that the white frames really help to make the art the focal point and keep the rest very simple. So glad you like it!
