Well folks, Christmas is officially here! I honestly can’t even believe it. I spent the past few days wrapping presents, finishing up cookies, and spending a little time relaxing. I’ve been a slight scrooge the past few weeks and I’m not exactly sure why. I suppose the magic of Christmas seems to fade a bit every year I get a little older. The stress of the holiday seems a little bit more prevalent than the cheer. If someone would have told me this early, I would have insisted on not growing up. Anyone else feel this way this time of year?

I have been wonderfully blessed over the passed year and even more so over the past month. Unfortunately, I seem to be carrying around this heavy weight that I just can’t seem to shake. I’ve always had this way of focusing on all the bad or worrisome things instead of the good. Kind of a bummer, right? Sorry, I know this is not what you want to be reading on Christmas Eve.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that I’m going to spend the next week away from the computer, a little holiday blog-cation. I’ve been chugging along pretty steady since January and just want and need a little time to figure out how I can have a truly happy New Year. It seems like 2013 is a great time to stop worrying so much and put a little happy back into life.

With all of that being said, I will see you in the New Year. Wishing you all the peace, happiness, and love that your hearts can hold this holiday season! Merry, merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

With Love,

Thank you, Michael 🙂 Have a good rest and you will be up and running in no time at all – many of us need a break from everything, because good or bad, life is hectic and it does seem to get worse the older we get. Find the peace in your heart and come back relaxed, to share so much more with us, your readers/followers/fans. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!

Michael, I want to thank you so much for the wonderful surprise box you sent me, when I won your contest! I received it today, on Christmas eve, which made it even more perfect! I love to cook, and bake, so the recipe cards, food goodies, and lovely tea towels were just wonderful. And the precious reindeer are so special. My daughter and grandson were delighted as well, watching me open the box. I just lost one of my part time jobs, so getting a surprise like this really made me smile.

When you are feeling down, please remember the joy and happiness you are giving to others of us when you share a small part of your world. I know I look forward each day to seeing what you have to show us!

Thank you so much, and Merry Christmas to you!

Merry Christmas, Michael! You deserve a break so enjoy it 🙂 My Christmas spirit ebbs and flows too so I think you are not alone. Life is complicated and we just have to try be good to ourselves and others. Take care.

You are a wise man to take this time to take a break and evaluate what truly makes you happy! I, too, once reached a similar point in my life where I had worked so hard to achieve what I had deemed in my mind to be highly successful…but I soon discovered that I was missing true fulfillment and contentment. I also asked myself if I was any happier now that I had achieved all of this success? The answer came quickly and it was NO! So, I ended several commitments, increased the time spent with family and close friends, started doing the things I enjoyed the most, and in the process, rediscovered what love, joy and giving in my life truly meant…and I wish the same for you, Michael, this holiday season!

    Hi Michael,
I know exactly what you mean about feeling a bit like a scrooge! I have felt this way for awhile now and I attribute it to all the energy we expend trying to make sure all our Christmas decorating, shopping and cooking is absolutely perfect. Maybe if we try to simplify our lives and spend more time with the Lord we would all feel much more content. Afterall, Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

I love your idea of a holiday blog-cation and I plan to follow in your footsteps and not spend so much of my precious time online. TFS! Sheila S.

by reading the comments here it seems that everyone truly understands. You need to take good care of you. Slow down. Focus. You arent perfect…….the only one who is – is who we celebrate today. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2013. Sharon

Oh Michael, Please get some rest and relaxation! Our 2013 Inspired year depends on you! Our tiny little blog (in testing mode) has kept us very busy. We are in the “Helping” business. Unfortunately all that work helping has kept us from posting our blogs for December. We realized in the middle of the month that the Helping part was more important than the posting. We were out visiting, making dinners for sick friends, help clean for parties, hosting parent’s night out party so parents could go shopping without the kids, etc… The break has given us a ton of ideas and posting material for 2013. We can’t wait to see what will inspire you on your blog-cation! Allie Sparkles!
