As you may or may not know, I have a small obsession with knickknacks. I probably have way more than necessary, but sometimes I can’t help myself. And lately people and brands are so darn creative, the cuteness level has risen to an all new high. Right?

Knick Knack Paddy Whack | Inspired by Charm #31dayofhome

Well, I am a complete sucker for buying objects that I probably don’t need. There I was, minding my own business on Pinterest this morning, when I saw this image.

First, I’m a huge Wizard of Oz fan. Huge. (Remember my Ode to Oz shelf display?) Anyway, that immediately drew me in. Secondly, the cover art was fabulous. The chalkboard-inspired drawing is beyond beautiful. At first, I thought it was just a print. So I clicked in hopes that this was something I could actually buy and that it would not cost me an arm and a leg.

I was directed to Anthropologie and was delighted to see that it’s a book, actually one in a three-part series. Amazing, right? Want to know the best part? The books cost $7.99 each. Which is an awesome price for a book, and given that it’s from Anthropologie, it’s kind of a steal.

I ended up ordering all three books. I’m certain they will look amazing styled on a coffee table or in a bookcase. Maybe they will make up for the loss of my chalkboard wall.

UPDATE: Thanks to a fab IBC reader, I discovered that the cover of these books were designed by the fabulous Dana Tanamachi. You can check out her work here. Her name my sound familiar too. She has a line at Target and helped to create a cover for Oprah Magazine!

So that’s that. More fun accessories for my space. I need to get off the Internet now before I find something else to buy. You can find these books here, here, and here.

Do you have a chotchkies obsession like me? What new knickknacks are you loving these day?

I have those too! A friend of mine designed the book covers and rumor has it that posters are in the works, too! She also has a line at Target right now if you want to check that out. Her name is Dana Tanamachi and she is crazy talented. =) Yay!

Gosh Michael…somewhere I missed your love of OZ. We are an OZ family (kids are now in their 50s). I traveled tons for work and on every trip would fined a new OZ book for them. My office is OZ prints, film sheets and famous sayings. Love the book you found. I just ran a search on the artist’s name, easy find. And best for me not to search for anything else.

There was a house down the street from me that always had the OZ witch at Halloween, stuck under their eave halfway with the ruby slippers on. I never went that far, but will always remember driving by and enjoying the humor well done.

    Enjoy the new additions.

Yes. Huge Oz fan here. I actually played the scarecrow in my 7th Grade school play. I’ve been hooked since then. Big fan of Wicked too! I love that idea for halloween too! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do! Haha.

Thanks for sharing my love of Oz!

OMGeee… I am in love with The Wizard of Oz {since like… the 70s} and I also have a huge addiction to beautiful books. I still have my Wizard of Oz book from when I was little. LOVE. These. Thanks so much for sharing. What a great price too!

Those book covers are just beautiful. . . but it was the name of your post that drew me in! Now I’ll be singing “This old man, he played one. . .” for the rest of the day. My beloved Uncle Richard (for whom I am named–Richard==>Richella) used to sing that song with me when I was a kid; it was my favorite! Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. 🙂
