it really feels good. what started back in may of this year has finally come to completion!
even in the ‘dead of winter’ (thought today it seems more like spring) this quilt just makes me happy. i felt the same happy feeling last may when i stumbled across this quilt via in color order. yeah, i pretty much
copied borrowed her design exactly. thank you for the amazing inspiration jeni!
the patterned squares are four charm packs from urban chiks ‘dream on’ fabric line. the yellow is corn yellow from kona. the gingham blue backing is actually a vintage sheet i picked up this summer at goodwill. i used the same corn yellow for the binding.
i attached the back of the binding to the quilt by hand and i’m so glad i did. i think it looks great and i really enjoyed the process. it gave me a chance to sit and relax, which i don’t get to do very often. i worked on it over a couple nights while watching tv. perfect! Initially i wanted to machine stitch my binding, but i think i’ll be doing all my binding this way.
i still have no idea what i’m going to do with it now that it’s finished. my goal is to make one for each of my guest rooms. i just need to figure out which room i want this one to go in.
either way i just love it and can’t believe it’s mine and that i made it!
what fun projects have you been up to lately?
