Holiday Letter Bling

You may remember that I teamed up with some of my blogger friends and host Laura of Finding Home this year to share decorating tips and tricks that can come together in fewer than 10 minutes. With the holidays almost upon us, we figured that you could use some ideas for decking your halls in as little time as possible.

While I was shopping the other day, I stumbled upon these gold and silver letter stickers at Staples. Since metallics are made for the holidays, I bought a couple packs knowing that they would come in handy during my seasonal decorating. Little did I know how many ideas I’d be able to come up with. Let me show you.
Each year I like swapping out some of my artwork to add little festive touches around my house.
For this project, I used a piece of pink paper and spelled out the word “Noel”. I popped it in a white frame, placed it on the shelf, added a couple other accessories befitting the season, and BAM – instant colorful holiday cheer.
You can spell out whatever seasonal word works for you – merry, comfort & joy, Christmas, etc. You get the idea.
Next, I decided to give these letters a try on some white plates. Guess what? They worked!
The letters aren’t super sticky, so they will peel off easily when the holidays are over.
You can spell out a Christmas word like I did, or use the letters to describe what you’re serving. Although it’s kind of obvious, I think the word “cheese” would be fun on a cheese plate. I’ve always been a big fan of details. It’s little touches like these that make a party memorable.
Last but not least, these letters look great on glass ornaments. I have a huge collection of colorful glass balls, so I’m always looking for different ways to use them.
Here, I just added the first letter of a person’s name.
Of course, you can hang these ornaments on your tree. However, I also love using them in place settings on my holiday table. It’s a unique way to indicate where people should sit, plus guests can take home the ornament as a little favor. Personalization makes everyone feel special. Again, it’s all in the details.
Also, if your ornament is large enough, you could use all three letters of a person’s initials. This would also be helpful if you have multiple guests whose first names begin with the same letter.
Cute ideas, right? There are bound to be more before December 25. At least I hope so. I have a lot more letters to use.
How would you use these letters to add a little holiday sparkle and cheer to your home, gifts, etc.?
