How’s that for stating the obvious? I just hope you’re having a happy one. This was certainly a weird weekend. For most of it, a strange-looking gray cloud hung over the area, threatening to storm at any moment. Obviously, this isn’t an ideal situation when it comes to tackling outdoor projects. Nonetheless, I’m pleased to report that my landscaping got a much needed spruce up (more on that this week).
Also, my mom and I did some flower shopping. Despite my love of planting, I’m trying to cut back a bit this year. While flowers are a must for me, I tend to overdo it. Then, halfway through the growing season, I’m spending way too much time watering, deadheading, pruning, etc. This year I’m trying to take a saner approach.
I also went to see Pitch Perfect 2 with friends on Friday. I need to watch it again, but it wasn’t quite as good as I was expecting. Maybe my hopes were too high. It was really good, just not great.
Thoughts on Taylor Swift’s new music video? I’ve been such a huge fan, but I was slightly disappointed with the Kendrick Lamar addition. I like the original song much better. The video, however, is brilliant.
This Pesto Chicken Pasta with Sun-Dried Tomatoes is food that I dream about.
I resisted it for a long time, but I must admit I’ve been enjoying Snapchat for sharing some of life’s little moments. I know. I know. Who needs another social media outlet? If you want to follow along, you can find me at: inspiredbycharm.
I have a feeling that Purple Haze from Abita is going to be my go-to summer brew. It’s a lager brewed with raspberries, resulting in pure deliciousness.
The past few weeks I’ve been obsessed with the show Bob’s Burgers. A friend told me about it, and I just can’t stop watching. I can’t recommend it to everyone because I know some of you will say, “Really, Michael? Really?” However, if you enjoy shows like Family Guy, with its mindless and sometimes weird humor, you might just enjoy this, too.
That’s it for this Monday. Hope you have a great week!
