Happy New Year, friends! I hope that 2014 is off to a fabulous start for each of you.
You’ve probably noticed that things have been pretty quiet around here since Christmas Eve. Although I had planned to take a few days off from blogging around the holidays, I didn’t expect it to be this long. I sort of hit a wall and really wanted nothing to do with the Internet for a while. So, I listened to my gut and stayed away until I was ready to return. I had intended to pop back on IBC last week but was slammed with a terrible head cold and just didn’t feel like doing much besides crashing on the couch and watching TV.
I have to say, I have mixed feelings going into 2014. I think that’s why this two- week-plus break was so essential. Last year was such a whirlwind with some amazing ups and and a few nightmarish downs. I literally don’t know how to feel at this point. Making a big career change along with turning the big 3-0, I had grand hopes of finding myself last year. While I love doing what I’m doing, the last several years I’ve definitely felt a little lost. Kind of like I’ve just been floating along without having a place to settle in. If that makes any sense. Basically I’m a little clueless on how to attack 2014.
However, after sitting around feeling lousy these past couple weeks, I’ve come to the realization that doing basically nothing isn’t going to help me figure out my little place in this world. It’s time to get to work.
I do have a lot of ideas, goals, and projects in store for 2014 and I’m excited to get started on them and share them with all of you. I just have to figure out how to go about that. I don’t really do well with New Year’s resolutions, but I do want to come up with a few thoughts and ideas that will help guide me through 2014. Maybe something like last year?
Either way, thank you so much for sticking with my through my little vacation. And since, I never did get a chance to share a little holiday house tour with you, I decided to include a few festive pictures in this post. To be honest, I actually never quite finished decorating for Christmas and now it’s time to take it all down. Ha ha. Anyone else?
Are you ready for this brand new year? What big goals and resolutions will you be working on?
