Freakin’ Weekend

Happy first day of spring, everyone! We are expecting 6 – 8 inches of snow today so it’s feeling just as it should in Central PA. Hopefully, your spring is starting off a little warmer.

How are you? Seriously. What’s new? Has everyone now adjusted to the new site design? Are you feeling it? I certainly hope so. Thanks for all of your support.

I know I haven’t been posting a ton in the past couple weeks and I did want apologize for that. Not excessively, but I do feel an “I’m sorry” is appropriate. (Laura, if you’re reading this, please don’t yell at me.) I seem to have dipped my toes into What-is-Everyone-Else-Doing Pool, Lake Comparison, Self-Doubt Ocean, or whatever you want to call it. And while I just had wet feet at first, I slipped and fell in. Now I’m completely drenched, people.

But that’s neither here nor there. Such is life, and I’m quickly paddling my way back to shore. I only wish I didn’t fall in so much and then feel the need to tell you about it.

Some people are killing it out in blogland, however, so I thought it’d be cool to share some things that made me giddy this week. You can check out all of those links below. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired, too. I’ll meet you back here soon. Thanks, friends!

Also, please don’t look too closely at the picture above because a white duvet cover is like a cat hair magnet. It’s like sleeping with a cat hair blanket, and while that’s totally gross, I don’t really care because the duvet cover is perfection.

I’m might be a little late to this party, but I’m madly in love with the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Please do yourself a favor and watch this show. Hashbrown no filter.

Kyle Krieger is one of my favorite Instagrammers, and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite YouTubers. Check out his new series Instagrammer and learn some Instagram tips (while being totally entertained).

Paper Ranunculus!?! Will someone please send me a bouquet of these?

DIY Bunny Place Cards. Also, they’re gold.

I totally get that not everyone is going to love this style, but her living room makeover at Vintage Revivals is something worth checking out. Mandi is fearless with design and so creative that it’s mind-blowing. Check out her retro modern loft living room.

Speaking of makeovers, here’s another. Brittni of Paper & Stitch found a way to add just the right amount of color to her office.

Bleach-spotted fabric. Yes!

The new albums from Brandi Carlile and Kelly Clarkson have been playing in my house on repeat. What are you listening to?

Cheese Baked Cauliflower. Healthy? Debatable. Decadent? Totally.

Have an amazing weekend regardless of the weather!

I am also LOVING Kimmy Schmidt! My fiancΓ© and I blew through the whole thing and now I’m ready for some new episodes.

I think the new site design looks great! The textured gold in the logo is really cool.

You rock!! I rarely comment on blogs, or instagram and for some reason I feel comfortable commenting on yours and I am a self-doubter too. I have been challenging myself to just do what I want without thinking about…good or bad. Don’t doubt yourself, please!! Blame it on vitamin D deficiency…I do!

Vanessa – so glad you feel comfortable commenting here. πŸ™‚ That’s awesome! And that’s a good philosophy. I need to do the same.

Don’t be too hard on yourself! We are all human and we all go through that stuff. The thing is to recognize it and adjust course which you do so well! BTW I’m loving the new design and must now check out this Kimmy show you mentioned., have a great weekend!

Wow! I’ve looked at you home as well as many other bloggers and I told my husband awhile back that of any of the homes, I would love to just move right into your house! Your style is awsome and so is your blog:) Everytime I feel blue, I look up your blog to see if you have something new posted and even if it’s a recipe from awhile ago I find, I’m reinspired! Keep up the good work!

I’m a quite recent reader and I totally adore your blog.

We’re big fans of the skillet cookie cake (which is how I found you – so excellent!) and we’re busting out the mini skillet berry cobblers this evening.

I can so relate to the comparisons and self doubt (so much so that I have banned myself from certain blogs and twitter feeds as one of my 2015 resolutions) – but know that you are absolutely fabulous!

I just wanted to say that I enjoy your blog very much and encourage you not to compare to others (I know its hard). I really like that you don’t post every day just to say you did and your content is interesting. So much of blogland is just unattainable now – I got interested in reading blogs for the small ideas and its starting to just feel like a constant rat race of keeping up with the Joneses. Your content is great, your style is great, and your recipes are yummy! Keep up the good work.
