cluster fudge


Wow. This week has been a bit of a cluster fudge (fudge being the friendly term for the word I would have used if we were BFFs and chatting over a glass of wine.)

I do apologize if things have been a bit boring around here.

Why the cluster fudge? Well, I think my ‘slow’ season has officially ended here at my little inn. With three fully booked days this week, four fully booked days next week, and lots of folks in-between, its been a bit busy.

My submissions for FOLK were also due today. I think I took over 1,000 pictures this week. And, as some of you well know, 1,000 pictures turns into about 10 usable or good pictures. Craziness.

I’m also guest posting on a blog next week, so I had to get that in order. I’m super excited about posting there, so I wanted things to be perfect and the photos to be lovely. I think I did well. More on that next week.

I also am attempting some Easter decorating. To be honest, other than Christmas, I’m not a big fan of decorating for the holidays. I’d rather just decorate seasonally. Needless to say, I’m not very excited with my lame attempt. I’ll try again next week. (And plastic easter eggs now have two holes on each end. What’s up with that? Choking hazard?)

I’m also spending some time with a friend this weekend. Yay for free time!! We are going on a little wine tour. I’m super excited. Although the wine isn’t always blow-your-socks off amazing, I love Pennsylvania wineries! When I lived in Philadelphia visiting the nearby wineries was always a favorite activity. If you’ve never been to Bucks County you need to add it to your bucket list. It’s beautiful and utterly charming.

To keep our tummies happy on our winery hopping adventure, I made a little snack to bring along. (Krista, stop reading here if you want to be surprised – though, I know you don’t like surprises, so continue reading.)

Thank to my virtual friend Pinterest, I stumble across a recipe for Cake Batter Muddy Buddies, or as I call it, Cake Batter Puppy Chow. The recipe and inspiration is from The Girl Who Ate Everything. She does a great job explaining the recipe, so head on over there for all the details.

It looked and sounded like a must try, plus I thought it would be the perfect sweet snack during our adventure.

So this afternoon I whipped up a double batch. And even though I’m really trying to watch my manly figure, I did sample a few bites. Delicious!!

I’m still a bit partial to the chocolate and peanut butter puppy chow, but it’s nice to mix things up once and a while.

I’ll be making it again for sure. The recipe is super simple and results are unique and fun! There is also a recipe for Lemon Puppy Chow and Nutella Puppy Chow. Sounds like I need to plan a Puppy Chow Tasting Party! Wanna come?

    Let’s be BFF’s and drink wine and you can use whichever words you want ! I’ spending the weekend with a friend too , we’ll be thrifting though and I’m sure the wine will still flow. I’ll have to show the Puppy Chow ( that’s what we call it in Iowa ) recipe to my Baby Girl, she’s the one in our family that always makes it 🙂 Have a great weekend !

    I make something similar called white trash. It’s so yummy and addicting. Nutella puppy chow sounds like something I would love. I’ll be checking it out soon.

    I LOVE the term cluster fudge. lol…it is the best! It reminds me of the “fiddle-sticks” moment in Knotting Hill. I was on his side…
    “what’s wrong with fiddle-sticks?” I giggled…”the best, most interesting people still talk like that!”

    Congratulations on your success, you deserve it. I will say though, if you stop blogging ever, I will be extremely sad…
