Chicken Feeder Planter

Well, I’m at it again. I’m filling things with flowers that were not intended for flowers. Honestly, I just can’t help myself! I’m loving it! Ready for my latest creation?

So I found this oversized chicken feeder (at least that’s what I’m told) and knew instanly it would make the perfect planter!

I love the little wood handle, the rope, and al the rusty details. It was screaming to be brought back to life.

Well, I did just that. Goodbye chicken feeder, hello gorgeous!

Luckily, I was able to find the perfect size hanging basket that fit exactly inside of the top of this feeder. The rim of the plastic basket fits right around the top holding it in place perfectly. Sweet!

To this pot of what I assume are some ivy type geraniums, I added some white bacopa and a licorice plant.

Both of these additions will trail nicely down the pot while the geraniums will mostly grow up.

Right now this bucket of awesomeness is on my little patio table on my side porch, but will probably get moved as it’s pretty large.

Though, it does look kind of perfect there doesn’t it? Too many flowers, not a enough room for them all. What’s a guy to do?

I also put together one of these feeder planters for my Dad’s wife. I think she likes it as much as I do. She asked, ‘how could you give that away!?’ I confessed that I bought two!

Lately, when I have the opportunity, I’m learning to by two of everything. Nothing wrong with that right?

So what do you think of my newest planter?

It’s gorgeous and I love the trailing “licorice” plant? I’ll have to look into that one. I love the feeder. I’ve never seen one like that but it is cool! Great job, as always!
