Adding Color

I don’t know about you, but after the glitter and glow of the holidays season, I’m always a little desperate to bring freshness, color, and coziness back into my home. I finally managed to pack up and put away all of my holiday decor. (It took an embarrassingly long time this year.) And as much as I welcome a space that is less cluttered, I’m equally excited to bring back a dose of happy color.

As you know from a few of my other posts, I’ve teamed up with Glade®  to share ways to create the best feeling in your home all year long. Because honestly, who doesn’t want that? I know I talk about it frequently, but I use color to make my home warm and welcoming.

To add a little life and color to my living room mantel, I picked up some inexpensive mini roses at my local grocery store. I thought they would create a simple mantelscape that was packed with personality.

Before the holidays, I was also super lucky to stumble upon these gorgeous glasses at a local thrift store. The glasses are tucked into little silver holders. I had a feeling they would make perfect little vases. Boy, was I right!

Keeping the mantel super simple, I just tucked the roses into the little glasses … er, vases. I decided to keep my Glade®   Limited Edition Collection Sparkling Spruce candles on display. The color and shape of the jars works beautifully. Plus, I’m still obsessed with the scent. Honestly, I’m still wishing emerald was the color of the year. I’m not really digging radiant orchid.

I also tucked in this gorgeous gem from the new Nate Berkus collection at Target. It works perfectly with the geometric shapes in the art on my mantel.

I really love a simple mantel such as this. It has just the right amount of color, sparkle, and vitality. Plus, it gives me an excuse to buy a bunch of flowers every week.

So I’m curious, how do you add color and life into your space after the holidays. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for winter to be over.

Sorry for my absence last week. I was attending ALT Summit. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the conference this week, plus lots of other goodies. Stay tuned!

UM…^^…I think your mantelscape is lovely! The thrift store glasses (vases) and the yellow roses make me think of sunshine & my Mom; who’s favorite flower was a yellow rose! I am really enjoying how you showcase thrift store finds and use them in ways other than what they were meant for.
